Saturday Author Spotlight: Bronwyn Heeley #Interview #Giveaway

Hey everyone!!! So it's Saturday, a day we all love. Sleeping late, being lazy if we can. And of course the Saturday Author Spotlight which I'm sure is the highlight of your life *wink*. This week is the fantabulous Bronwyn Heeley. Bronwyn's been dubbed (in my own mind) the alpha writer and I ask about that in the interview. With books like Taking a Stand, Moonlit Wolves series and so many more this author can write shifter! So hang out with us and have a chat!

One Werewolf. One Vampire. One night.

Dem lives in a world ruled by two things: the moon and his alpha. Something inside of him has always yearned for more, and a chance encounter with a vampire helps Dem realise what he craves. Now that Dem knows what he wants, is he strong enough to reach out and take it?

There’s something unsettling in having to tell a one-night stand that you’re pregnant with his child. When you yourself are a man, it gets…let’s call it complicated.

When you’re screwed anyway, hope for the best and get what you can.

Kidnapping the son of one of the mob leaders isn’t easy, and when said son happens to be a werewolf’s mate, it’s bound to get messy.

Interview

Thank you so very much for being the spotlight author this Saturday! It’s awesome to have you here and to be able to poke at your brain a bit. Get to know you and all! Let’s get started.
Let’s, I’m excited to get into these with you.

You’ve been writing for a while now. How would you say you’ve grown as an author from book one to now?

I have gotten much better at actually writing a story. I use to always think, and see myself as a storyteller but in the last couple of years I have actually become an author, this has come with some other details I have to deal with and work out, but mostly after 2 years I see myself as an author.

I categorize you as an Alpha Writer! Many of your characters are like that. What draws you to writing those characters?

I’m not actually sure why, I never even thought of characters that way, but now that you’ve said it I can see you’re right. I guess it’s who I know, as I hesitate to write a type of person I haven’t spent time around, mostly because I don’t like writing classic stereotypes and that’s all they’d be to me. Maybe I need to get out more, meet new people.

This genre has come a long way through the years. Where do you see it in say five years?

I’m not sure, I think because it’s romance that there’s only so far it can come, but I do hope it gets bigger and becomes more mainstream.

Mainly I hope that vampires come back into population, tho I do hope that doesn’t take 5 years to swing back.

If Taking A Stand became a major motion picture; what actors would you cast for the roles?

Hm… this is a hard one as I honestly don’t see my character. To me they are just default to the story, but I went in search, gun to my head type of style, and thought, maybe Jai Courtney (with dark hair) as Dem and Cillian Murphy as Jeffery  - honestly, your thoughts are as good as mine at this point

- Oh, models Dawid Auguscik for Jeffery & Paolo Bianchi as Dem, yep, I like them together

Can you tell us what you are currently working on right now and/or what you have brewing for the future?

Right now I’m writing book two in a series I’m writing alongside April Kelley, it’s a challenge we set ourselves. Actually the next 3 books are from that series and will be coming out in 2017. With hopefully a 6 sex paranormal erotic short stories thrown in there.

Do you attend conventions and such? If so where will you be in 2017?

I’m going to be at my first in October, Riveting Reads Australia event, very excited

Do you write with music playing or do prefer silence?

I prefer noise, most of the time tho I like the telly in the background. I tend to lean towards watching criminal minds or NCIS. Right now Brooklynn Nine-Nine (but I’ve been a month without internet and Netflix), but I can write to music or silence, depending how obsessed with what I’m writing I am

  1. Thanks for the interview! My favorite thing is usually the world building.

  2. The magic! I love the dual nature of both vampire and shifter, and the fact that it is magic what lies behind it.

  3. I like reading Vampire and shifter books as authors often use different rules to distinguish there Vampire or Shifter from others.

  6. Weren't vampire a shifter, too - they could change form into bats, right. The supposed supernatural abilities (whether to shift, hightened senses and strength) are among what interest me on vampires/shifters books.
And thank you for this post, pretty interesting to read! ;-)
