It's Saturday! That means it's spotlight time. YAY! Today we have the lovely, kind, talented, and unforgettable Aimee Nicole Walker here with us. She's talking about some of her books and a book that is coming out in November! Very exciting stuff. There's an interview and a terrific giveaway at the end so be sure to check it all out!
Gabriel Wyatt is a big city
Detective living in a small Ohio town. He expects a peaceful existence once he
moves from Miami, Florida, but that’s the last thing he finds. Instead, Gabe
discovers murder, mayhem, and one smart-mouthed stylist he can’t get out of his
head.
Josh “Jazz” Roman is a small-town business owner with big dreams and an attitude to match. He finds himself in the middle of a case that brings the dreamy detective to the front door of his Curl Up and Dye Salon. Josh learns that the biggest threat to him isn’t a killer; it’s a man who wants something from him that he vowed to never give again - his heart.
Both men deny that there’s something between them, even though they’re drawn together like magnets. Can Gabe convince Josh to let down his guard or will Josh let past hurts destroy his chance at a happy future?
Dyeing to be Loved is the first book in the Curl Up and Dye Mystery series. These books are written to be read in order. They contain sexually explicit material and are intended for adults 18 and older.

Psychic Emory Jackson and former black
ops specialist Jonathon Silver are men from two completely different worlds
with one thing in common: heartbreak. Emory still mourns the loss of his
husband five years prior, and Jon is reeling with grief from the recent death
of his twin brother.
Sparks fly when mutual friends
introduce them, but it’s so much more than basic attraction. There’s an
undeniable awareness and a sense of belonging that neither man can deny.
Despite Emory’s premonition of a future with Jon, he has vowed never to love again.
Jon is convinced that his tainted soul is the reason he will never have someone
to call his own. What if they’re both wrong?
Maybe these broken men with their
jagged edges could somehow align perfectly to form something whole and
beautiful. But will that realization come too late for them?
Circle of Darkness – Release Date
Nov 15th
There isn’t a monster D’Angelo Kumar
can’t destroy or a crisis he can’t manage until he meets Angel Bai. The insane
attraction he feels toward the sexy waiter is unwelcome because D’Angelo
doesn’t have room in his life for relationships. A solitary path is the only
option for a man like him, but fighting his growing feelings for Angel may be
the first battle he can’t win.
Angel’s abilities extend beyond
memorizing the menu at D’Angelo’s favorite Italian restaurant, but he knows
better than to trust anyone with his secret. When a vision reveals that
D’Angelo’s life is in danger, he will risk everything to save him. The only
thing scarier than monsters and demons to Angel is never knowing D’Angelo’s
touch.
To say the
demon hunter is reluctant to form a partnership with the psychic is putting it
mildly, but D’Angelo needs every advantage he can get when the world’s very
existence is threatened. As darkness looms nearer, D’Angelo and Angel’s
unexplainable connection grows stronger. For a chance at happiness, the two men
will need to call upon unlikely allies for an epic showdown between good and
evil.
Sexy, witty, and action-packed, Circle of
Darkness is the first book in the Genesis Circle paranormal romance series by
Nicholas Bella and Aimee Nicole Walker. This book contains sexually explicit
material and is intended for adults 18 and older.
Interview
Thank you, Aimee, for hanging out with me today. Even though
I pretty much forced you into this. But it will be worth it in the end… I hope. I’m just going to ask you some questions and then I will release you. I am so happy to be
here. Thank you for having me.
Describe yourself using just three words.
Quirky, independent, and fierce.
GRL is only a few days away. This
will be your first year attending. What is going through your head right now
and what excites you about this?
This is my first year and
I’m excited about all of it. Seriously! I get to breathe the same air as my favorite authors and meet the readers
who’ve come to mean so much to me. It’s
my first book convention ever, so I’m thrilled to experience as much as I can.
What do you hope to take from the GRL experience?
I hope to strengthen existing
friendships and open myself to new ones. Anyone who’s read my books knows how important friendships are to me. It’s
one of the main themes in almost every single book or series. Friends are the
family we choose. Cherish them.
You have a cover reveal coming up as well. Tell us about
this Christmas story headed our way.
Oh my! Hold onto your hats because
it’s a wild ride. Josh and Gabe are the proud, doting fathers of ten-month-old twins,
Destiny and Dylan. The story starts right before Thanksgiving and goes through the New Year where we celebrate the
twins’ first birthday. There are shenanigans aplenty, tons of laughs, sexy
times, and so much love in A Dye Hard Holiday. We get to catch up with our
favorite characters and meet some new faces. It was an absolute joy to write.
Of all the amazing characters you’ve ever written Josh is my
favorite. Hard not to love that fire cracker!
Did he just pop into your brain one day or was there inspiration for him?
I have never in my three years of
writing connected with another character like I have Josh Roman. I feel like he
is a part of my soul that I’ve ripped out and put on paper for the world to see.
Sharing his books feels as intimate as sharing my journal with complete strangers.
Josh
started making his presence known to me
about the time I started writing the Fated Hearts series in late 2014. I kept
telling him he had to wait. Then book ideas for him kept popping up in my head like little film clips, and I just kept
ignoring him. His voice just kept getting stronger and louder in my head. At
the time, I didn’t really have an
interest in writing multiple series at once. I worried that one series would
pull my attention more than the other, and I’d end up with an incomplete series
and angry readers. I knew that it would be almost impossible to walk away from
Josh’s personality once I tapped into him.
Mostly, Josh is a complete figment
of my imagination. Years ago, I’d say ten to twelve years, I was driving home from my old job,
and I saw a young man walking down the street surrounded by girls. I would
guess that he was probably in high school. He was the most fabulous kid I ever
saw. I mean, he was so sassy and happy in his own
skin as he danced around and laughed with his friends. He was so vibrant and
full of life that he nearly levitated off the ground. He made my heart deliriously happy, and I’m pretty sure I smiled the
entire thirty-minute drive home. I saw him again the next night, but he
was by himself. He was singing along to whatever song was playing in his ear
and snapping his fingers like he didn’t have a care in the world. Again, this
joy just radiated inside me like a ray of sunshine, and I remember praying that
nothing and no one would ever dim his bright light. The world can be such a
cruel place, and he triggered my protectice
instincts. I never saw him again after that
night, and I still wonder where he is and how he’s doing. This kid
looked nothing like Josh, but I think Josh definitely
exudes that same fabulous ray of sunshine.
I have to ask this. HAVE TO. You collaborated with Nicholas
Bella in Undisputed and you also have another
collab with him coming out. He’s as dark as you are light. HOW do you make this
work?
Writing with Nicholas Bella has been
one of the easiest, most flawless experiences in
my life. First, we have the same work ethic and dedication to our craft. We approach
our projects in the same way, constantly striving to improve our skills and
grow as writers. We have complete trust in each other, which is the most
important component in any collaboration. We respect what each of us brings to
the table. We have no egos and we listen to each other. When it comes to
romance, we rely on my instincts and knowledge of what works best. When it
comes to paranormal, supernatural, or gritty elements, then we rely on Nick’s
instincts and knowledge.
In both situations, we always listen to what the other
one says. Our personalities are very similar, so it helps a lot. Our subject
matter in our solo books is completely opposite, but we’re very much alike as
people. Does that make sense?
I also think that
sometimes we, as creators, get pigeonholed as to what we’re capable of
doing. Sometimes it’s fair, and
sometimes it happens because we don’t show the other sides of our personalities
or our different passions. We’re not interested in status quo; we need to be
challenged. Our next book, Circle of Darkness, is the absolute best of what
Nick and I offer as authors. It’s both of us spreading our wings and trying new
things while showcasing our best strengths. We are so very proud of this book.
Can you tell us about some of your future projects?
I am happy to reveal that Circle of
Darkness will release on November 15, 2017.
This is a Diverse Reader exclusive
and the first time we’ve shared this information publicly. Surprise!
Josh, Gabe, and the gang return on
November 24th in A Dye Hard
Holiday. I Just completed the first book in a new m/f series that takes place
in my Blissville Universe. I crazy love that book and I’m so excited to release
it either in late December or early January. After GRL, I’m starting an M/M standalone
that has called to my heart for months,
and I cannot wait to lose myself in their story. It’s a friends to lovers, second chance love that spans four decades. Gah!
I can’t wait. Then I’m back to Wren and Dare for the third book in my Road to
Blissville series. I’ll also continue
working on the second book in the Genesis Circle series with NB and the first
book in my collaboration series with Annabella Michaels. So much fun stuff is going on!

Last question. Looking back on the Aimee you were when you
first published how have you changed?
The biggest change is the amount of control
and freedom that I give my characters to tell their story. When I first started
out, I attempted to outline the story at least a few chapters ahead to give
myself direction. I realized about halfway through Only You that it didn’t work
for me. I spent hours making notes, but
Sebastian and Adam weren’t listening. They wanted to go in a different
direction. I fought that to an extent because I thought I knew better. Moving
forward to Chasing Mr. Wright, I let the characters have a little bit more
control, and even more with Rhythm of Us until I got the point that the only
thing I was jotting down were character notes and names so I could quickly
reference them. My book ideas pop up in my head like scenes in a movie. I now
go into my projects with two or three scenes in my mind, and I allow the characters to connect
those dots and tell their story fully without my input. There are many
days that I sit back and just say, “I didn’t see that coming.” I often don’t
know what I’m going to write when I sit down at my desk. I just stopped
fighting it and allowed it to happen. I do not always like or agree with parts
of the stories they tell because it’s not something I would do or can relate to. Then I realize, this story isn’t about me.
It’s not my story to tell.
