Mate Healer

I am a lover of paranormal books
and I love that this series is about dragons, which are not written about all
that often. Amber Kell’s Dragon Men Series was an original take on the concepts
in these types of stories as well as the pairs and their dynamics. From the
rules in the Mating Hunt, to bond that Tor had with the Space dragon Baroy that
affected his eyesight, to how not all dragons shift some just bond with a
dragon, and the touch healing ability that some had, Amber creates something
different in this dragon world.
In book one, Mate Hunt, we have
Prince Joriah, who is the youngest son to the High Galactic King, who is well
loved by both the people on their planet and his father. The King banishes
Joriah to Dragait, the dragon world and the mate hunt, because there is a rumor
going around that Joriah’s eldest brother, Detrius, wants him dead and this is
the only way he can think to save him. Shortly after arriving Jory meets Val,
High Duke, who he connects with so strongly so much so that Val believes him to
be his mate but they have to wait for the God of Mating to allow the tattoo of
the real mate to appear on his body. In the meantime, to meet the rule of the
mating hunt that the participants have to actively search for a mate by having
sex with at least two candidates, Jory with regret also meets Rai, King of
Dragait. With Val, Rai, and his rescued Queen Black Dragon bonding with him
will Jory be well protected against those that want him dead? And who in the
end will be his mate?
In book two, Mate Test, we have
High Duke Torrance Zelan, who we met in book one through Jory, being sent to
negotiate mineral rights by the King (Jory’s father) but really is really the
king is setting up to take the mate test. The king feels it's time for Tor is
move on from the death of his lover two years ago. Tor is also dragon-bonded as
a child so he can only see what the dragon Baroy’s allows him to see which
means he is blind. Southern King Naron knows it’s probably wrong to trick Tor
into the mate test but he knows Tor is his fated mate so it’s something he is
more than willing to do in order to have him.
In book three, Mate Dance, Raven is
a well-known intergalactic ballet dancer who is starting to lose his passion
for his craft. One night after a dance he rescues a little girl, Trisha, in an
alley sitting next to the dead body of her grandmother. She is terrified but
since Trisha loves Raven and wants to be a dancer herself, she won’t go
anywhere without him. They find out that Trisha is the daughter of Prince
Kaemon even though he has no idea she even exists. Through one act of kindness
Raven finds himself falling for the Prince even though he doesn’t think he is
worthy of him. But of course Kaemon knows Raven is his mate and won’t stop
until Raven knows it.
In book 4, Mate Healer, Lian is a
touch Healer that was sent to the planet to research why the dragons are having
fertility issues. He is happy to help the dragons but doesn’t let anyone close
to him and definitely doesn’t want a relationship with anyone due to his own
parents’ violent end. Upon arriving he gets lost on his way to the clinic when
he meets Nevair Dragon breath the religious leader for the planet. Lian is
fighting to find out the truth of the fertility while dealing with someone that
doesn’t want him to find out the true reason of the mystery. And someone else
is trying to stop the mating between Lian and Nevair through all means
possible. Will they find the culprit before it's too late?
Even though each book in this
series is considered a novella the author does fantastic job at developing the
story and all the characters. You never feel like something is missing or left
out. It does make you wish they were longer but only because you fall in love
with the characters! Amber creates characters that are at their core are both
strong and soft and by doing this she creates stories that are sweet but
colorful, dirty but romantic. After reading each book I have to say that
although each one has its own strong suits the more I read of the series it
only got better with each book she writes.

Amber Kell has made a career out of daydreaming. It has been a lifelong habit she practices diligently as shown by her complete lack of focus on anything not related to her fantasy world building.
When she told her husband what she wanted to do with her life, he told her to go have fun.
During those seconds she isn't writing, she remembers she has children who humor her with games of 'what if' and let her drag them to foreign lands to gather inspiration. Her youngest confided in her that he wants to write because he longs for a website and an author name—two things apparently necessary to be a proper writer.
Despite her husband's insistence she doesn't drink enough to be a true literary genius, she continues to spin stories of people falling happily in love and staying that way.
She is thwarted during the day by a traffic jam of cats on the stairway and a puppy who insists on walks, but she bravely perseveres.
