Synopsis
Justin Hawthorne worked hard to realize his silver-screen dreams, making his way from small-town Pennsylvania to Hollywood and success. But it hasn’t come without sacrifice. When Justin’s father kicked him out for being gay, George Miller’s family offered to take him in, but circumstances prevented it. Now Justin is back in town and has come face to face with George, the man he left without so much as a good-bye… and the man he’s never stopped loving.
Justin’s disappearance hit George hard, but he’s made a life for himself as a home nurse and finds fulfillment in helping others. When he sees Justin again, George realizes the hole in his heart never mended, and he isn’t the only one in need of healing. Justin needs time out of the public eye to find himself again, and George and his mother cannot turn him away. As they stay together in George’s home, old feelings are rekindled. Is a second chance possible when everything George cares about is in Pennsylvania and Justin must return to his career in California? First they’ll have to deal with the reason for Justin’s abrupt departure all those years ago.

Review
Second chance romance anyone? Movie star and nurse? Yeah?
Well, this is the book for you! Fairly low angst, very high romance!
I absolutely love the books that wrap themselves around you
and make you feel. Not the painful kind of feel that turns you violent but the
kind that makes the silent tears fall down your cheeks. The kind of feels that
make the laugh burst out of you because a character took you by surprise. I
love finding myself telling characters I’m proud of them. Like they are real or
something.
Can’t Live Without You was like the best comfort food. It
was feeling like your dreams were lost only to realize they were simply in
hibernation.
The characters. Justin and George. These are the MC’s and
the lovers. Childhood friends who fell in love. Justin is kicked out of his
home just shy of 19 and George’s family wants to take him in but something
horrible happens to Justin and forces him to run without ever saying goodbye to
George. *sigh* I know!
That’s all you’ll get out of me. How does a big movie star
from L.A. end up back in Pennsylvania and face to face with the love of his
life? I’m sayin’ nuttin’. It’s wonderful though.
There are gray areas where sadness lingers but never stays
too long. George is Justin’s sun and they are brilliant together.
The secondary characters, Ethan, Shirley, and all the rest
really round this book off perfectly. Really love Ethan and what he is for
Justin. We all need an anchor when we find ourselves adrift and that is what
Ethan does.
Lovely book by Andrew Grey! Adored it!

One of my favorite things about Andrew Grey is how he puts just the right amount of angst in a story. I think I'll go get this book right now.
