Synopsis
The Witness Protection Program dumps JD Smith practically at the ends of the earth—in Two Pines, Alaska—to protect him until he can testify against a dangerous gang. He tries to stick to his story and keep his head down, but it’s impossible to ignore bush pilot Jake Wylder, a sexy loner with quite a reputation around the small town.
Flying medical supplies around Alaska suits Jake’s wild streak and love of freedom. He’s perfectly content to keep his romantic encounters casual—at least until he meets JD. Something about the nurse makes Jake think settling down might not be such a hardship. Now he just needs to convince JD he’s serious—which won’t be easy, given his past.
For a relationship to stand a chance, JD must testify so he can return to Two Pines as the man he really is—and Jake must grow into the man JD needs him to be.

Review
Not only is this a new to me author but
it will be the first of the States of Love series as well. So to say I am
excited is an understatement!
This is a short story that is sexy and
full of heat. Who can’t love a little quicky? Jake Wylder is exactly that wild.
His last “long term” relationship lasted 7 months but he’s more of the love ‘em
and leave ‘em type and because he is pansexual the choices are vast. Of course,
this has gotten him into trouble a time or two. He loves his job and business
of flying even after suffering a lose that almost kept him grounded the call
was too strong. As soon as Jake meets sexy nurse JD he wants him in his bed but
JD isn’t having it. Soon enough Jake realizes maybe having JD in his bed isn’t
all he wants.
JD has his reason s for turning down Jake
mainly all the baggage he carries with him to Alaska in the Witness Protection
Program. Doing anything but keeping his head down could mean danger for him and
those around him. And he is sure someone like Jake isn’t used to being turned
down. But he loves to help people
I loved the heat and the Witness
Protection Program angle piqued my curiosity from the get go! Not to mention a
bit of suspense. The author wrote these two guys in a way that had to rooting
for them from the sidelines and feeling connected to their story all at once.
Her character are well written and completely likeable.
If you are looking for a novella with
romance, intrigue, suspense, and a bad boy that falls head over heals than this
is your story!
