Give in to the darkness within.
Rebecca Renfield and her best friend Johanna Seward are reopening an old sanatorium to start their psychology practice when Bec discovers old recordings from a John Seward pertaining to someone with her surname. What she finds in the recordings are unnerving, but their new night-shift doctor promises to provide the distraction Bec needs.
Victoria Draconis is a mysterious, beautiful woman who opens doors into levels of pain, pleasure, and submission that Bec had never imagined existed.

Paranormal, mystery and Dom/sub rolled all into one in a short sexy read.

Rebecca and Johanna after years of school have their degrees and are fulfilling their long-held dream of having their own sanatorium. One that they could help patients in a unique environment. They got what they asked for in more ways than they probably wanted.

They stumble across old patients files that hold a mystery of their own. With a new doctor that sets off some alarm bells for Rebecca, coincidences from the past at every turn and mysterious deaths this story is packed full.

I never was sure if Victoria, the night doctor, was good or bad. I’m not sure if that was the intention so that the reader didn’t come to any conclusion about where the story would end or that was just my interpretation. The writing and flow were spot on. Creating a sense of darkness throughout the story and giving a clear picture of Rebecca. Johanna was less so but she wasn’t playing a huge part since this was more about Rebecca and Victoria and secondary characters are never as complete as main characters in such short stories.

I would’ve liked for the story to be longer, more fleshed out. Maybe not full length but definitely longer than we got. I felt disconnected and uninterested in the characters, and I do believe this was the reason why. The mystery and story were unique and other than the length not giving me time to connect it was a good story.
