Synopsis

While recovering from the recent loss of his parents, Daniel Donnelly receives a phone call from his estranged aunt, who turns over control of the family fortune and estate, Timber Manor. Though his father seemed guarded about the past, Daniel’s need for family and curiosity compel him to visit.

Located in a secluded area of the Northwest, Timber Manor has grown silent over the years. Her halls sit empty and a thin layer of dust adorns the sheet-covered furniture. When Daniel arrives to begin repairs, strange things happen. Nightmares haunt his dreams. Memories not his own disturb his waking hours. Alive with the tragedies of the past, Timber Manor threatens to tear Daniel apart.

Sherriff Hale Davis grew up working on the manor grounds. Seeing Daniel struggle, he vows protect the young man who captured his heart, and help him solve the mystery behind the haunting and confront the past—not only to save Daniel’s life, but to save his family, whose very souls hang in the balance.

Review

Let's talk about The Haunting of Timber Manor by F.E. Feeley jr. There's a certain intensity to books like this one. Hauntings, things that go bump in the night are often times a lot of fun.

I found myself really getting immersed in this story quite a few times. Someone would tap my shoulder or call my name in my house and I'd jump. Then I'd laugh at the absurdity.

This story is told in multiple POVs. Sometimes that annoys me because I'll get confused or overstimulated. In this case it didn't do either. All voices were welcome and helpful.

I found the writing to glide and build perfectly until it would get to its end just right. I really felt for Daniel in this book. The loss he had to try and overcome. Getting the keys to Timber Manor you'd think would be great but as beautiful as this place is, it practically destroys Daniel.

If you're a lover of paranormal haunting tales with actual realism to them, this is a great read for you. This is book one to this series so there will be more and I really look forward to them.

  1. I haven't picked out a book released this month for a book I really want to read. I've just been really busy.
