Synopsis
What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.
Cody Hayes is having one epic morning-after. The hangover following a Vegas bachelor party is nothing new to him, and neither is the naked man in his bed.
His apparent marriage is a different story.
Carefully plotting every detail of his life carried Julian Canales to a Senate seat as an openly gay man. A drunken night of Truth or Dare isn’t like him… and neither is marrying a man he just met. He’d get an annulment, but the media has gotten wind of his hasty nuptials. If Julian’s political career is going to survive, he has to stay married to a man who’s his opposite in every way.
Now he must convince Cody that all they need to do is survive a conservative political rival, a heartbroken ex, their painful pasts… and an attraction neither man can fight.

Review
Who doesn't
love a fun, relatively low-angst book that begins with two guys waking
up in a Las Vegas hotel room, not only naked but married, too?! Such is
the premise of Jacob Z. Flores's new book, Suddenly Yours. This newest
addition to Dreamspinner Press's Dreamspun Desires line is just as heart
warming and entertaining as all the others have been. I have to tell
you all, if you haven't checked out this line of books from
Dreamspinner, do so now. They're all just oodles of delight and
fabulousness.
Cody
Hayes and Julian Canales are more than a little surprised when they
wake up after a drunken night neither remembers very well legally wed.
To say their first morning doesn't go well is a huge understatement but
from this first glimpse of these two, you can tell there are going to be
some sparks flying. Cody is bold and brash, a fly by the seat of your
pants kind of guy whereas Julian ... well he's a Senator so .... Nothing
like a complete opposite of personalities to make things interesting,
right? Julian is in the middle of a re-election campaign and when the
press gets wind of his nuptials, it's damage control time. After
wheeling and dealing with Cody the two agree to stay married and put on a
show for the public as a perfect, happily married couple. And of course
as you'd expect, this doesn't go anywhere near as smoothly as either
hoped.
There
are no surprises in this one, folks, but that doesn't mean I wasn't
completely sucked in from the very first page. These two guys were fun
(especially Cody) and even though I wanted to throttle Julian more than a
few times, he definitely grew on me, too. The banter is witty and cute,
the slow burn was yummy, and the secondary characters were all written
very well and sure did add to the overall enjoyment of the story.
Jacob's writing is spot on in this one; nice pace, good set up, and yeah
in the middle it drags a bit, but it's nothing that took away too much
from the overall feel good of the book. This one will leave you with a
smile on your face, so be sure to check it out. I sure hope Jacob
continues to contribute to the Dreamspun Desires line!
