GayRomLit— or as some refer to it as GRL— truly is the must-attend event for
people who create and celebrate LGBT romance. For those who are unfamiliar with
what GRL is I can try and summarize it. Every year in October (this year it’s
the 17th to the 20th with pre-events on the 16th)
the LGBT community consisting of authors, narrators, readers, and professionals
gather to share in their love of LGBT romance. There are signings, author
lounges, many events, spotlights, it really is hours of fun.
The location
changes every year and on the opening night of each year the spot for the next
year is announced. During this time at
GRL there are two signings. One for Registered Authors and one for Featured
Authors.
At these
signings you can go to the authors’ tables, talk, have them sign swag they
have, books you’ve brought, pick up pre-orders, and they will even sign
something you brought from home.
Lounges are
set up as well these are outside the signing times. Registered authors have one
and featured have two lounges.
There will
also be spotlights with readings, Q&A’s and so much more.
Now until
October 14th Diverse Reader is spotlighting authors that will be at
this years GRL. And if you want to know more about it simply head over to the

So, a girl walked into her first GRL two years ago—I
promise, this isn’t the start of a bad joke lol—by herself and was terrified!
She started running through the reasons she was there, and none of those
reasons seemed good enough for the anxiety she was feeling. She’d gotten on a
plane…by herself…for the first time. What. Was. She. Thinking?
It was the best decision she’d ever made.
Okay, so I don’t need to tell you I was the girl—except I
just did.
Thinking about what I want readers to focus on this year for
me is a no-brainer: come and say hi! Find yourself anxious and a bit out of
place? You won’t be alone! I’m hoping readers can get to know me and see how
passionate I am about my books. This is a dream come true, and all those going
to GRL this year will be a part of my very first signing. *hangs head* And I’m
nervous! So damn nervous. If you’re feeling nervous, keep in mind that most of
the authors are just as nervous as you are.
That first year, I found my tribe. I found my people…the
ones I can count on through thick and thin. Putting myself out there wasn’t
easy, but it was so worth it!
Let this experience be one you’ll never forget. Remember
that we’re all in the same boat. I’ll spare you the clichés, but you get the
idea. lol
GRL is what you make of it; a chance to have fun, meet your
favorite authors, and make incredible friendships with people from all over the
globe. Can’t wait to see you there!
Leaving his enormous
family behind, native New Yorker, Elijah, decides to move to Brighton Pier for
a fresh start. Being part of a large LGBTQ community and landing his dream job
at Inkubus, a local tattoo shop, is too big of a draw for him to turn down. But
just when he thinks his new life is going perfectly, he finds out his
burgeoning relationship is nothing more than a friends-with-benefits arrangement
to the man he was swiftly falling for. Suddenly, everything that felt so right
to him feels all wrong, and he wonders if New York, with his family, is where
he is meant to be after all.
Jake has worked hard
for the life he’s made for himself in Brighton Pier. His life as a bachelor is
pretty set in stone. Running his own business and spending time with his family
and friends is enough for him, or so he’s convinced himself. Though he’s met a
man he cares for, he’s adamant about keeping his single life as is. He has his
reasons for not wanting to commit to the beautiful man he’s irrevocably drawn
to. He just hopes their friends-with-benefits arrangement will be enough to
keep Eli in his life.
When tragedy
strikes, and Jake’s world is turned upside down, his instincts lead him to lean
on the one person who’s become someone special, despite his best efforts to try
and push him away. Eli—unable to turn Jake away when a loss so great takes the
strong man to his knees—steps selflessly into the void in Jake’s life,
regardless of the toll it takes on him. As both men struggle to deal with their
own emotional turmoil, their lives veering off course, they grow inevitably
closer as the days pass. But even so, they are still left wondering—can two
people, drawn together by tragedy, turn a devastating situation into a fresh
start? Or is it too late for a new beginning?
What happens when
thirst becomes an obsession that can’t be quenched?
Forty-year-old Zachariah Taylor prides himself on being the
overprotective older brother of seven. He owns a successful bar, Zach’s Bar and Grill, in the quiet town
of Riverside Falls and loves the life he’s built for himself. But as his
siblings move on and find their forever partners in life, he’s starting to feel
less and less needed—not to mention old. Suddenly, he’s finding it even harder
to ignore the younger man who has pursued him for years, but the twelve years
separating them is something Zach can’t seem to overlook.
Twenty-eight-year-old Drew Belford has been in love with the
stubborn Zach Taylor for seven years. Sure, he was a kid when they’d first met,
but what Zach is determined to ignore is the man Drew has become. Drew,
however, is just as strong-minded and refuses to let Zach use their age
difference as an excuse to disregard the attraction burning between them. He
doesn’t need an overprotective older brother—he needs Zach.
When Drew begins to get unsettling messages from an unknown
person, Zach feels helpless in a way he’s never felt before. How can he protect
Drew from someone he can’t find? The thought of anyone hurting Drew unleashes
years’ worth of pent-up desire Zach has had for the younger man. Is his thirst
for Drew enough to protect him from the danger lurking in the shadows, or will
the threat of the unknown be enough to douse the spark of love between them—and
silence Drew forever?
Will the
demons of the past ruin any hope for the future?
If
there’s anyone who knows how to have a good time—be it with a
man or a woman—it’s Ryder
Pearce. Master of the nail-it-and-bail-it theory, he lives his life for one
person and one person only: himself. When a man enters Ryder’s life who
challenges him on every flirtation, every sexual innuendo he can come up with,
Ryder’s thrown off his game in a big way. Because there’s one thing the man has
made perfectly clear—they’ve played this game before, and Ryder doesn’t remember the
outcome.
Avery
Hamilton has seen all of Ryder’s moves and has witnessed his sex appeal. He
knows all too well about his cocky sense of humor and his penchant for
one-night stands. There was a time in his life when he’d taken the bait, but
this time around, he wants more. He’s seen Ryder’s act; what he hasn’t seen is
Ryder—the real Ryder he hides from the world.
When
both men come together to help a young boy, Ryder’s forced to face things from his
past he’s blocked out. Things he never wanted anyone to know. Now, Ryder has
one fear… Will revealing that side of himself be real enough for Avery? Or will
it be the reason Avery walks away?
BIO
I have been an artist from a very young age. From drawing
cartoon characters and evolving into portraits, making jewelry, photography,
and now writing. I have an amazing support system in my family and friends and
couldn’t be more grateful.
I live in central New Jersey, love summers at the Jersey Shore,
rock music, wine, sexy men, and laughing a lot with my amazing friends and
family. Sunday dinners at my parents’ house are crazy, hysterical and you can
count on a movie quote…or ten…being thrown out. Insults between siblings is how
we show our love for each other!
When I’m not creating, you can find me reading books from my
favorite authors. I’m a hopeless romantic, starving for passionate characters
and always craving that happy ending, whether in reading or in writing my own
books.
