Synopsis
Kenneth Brannigan is a small-town history professor. He's happy with his life, loves the classes he teaches, and lives in a tiny apartment in a converted house with his best friend, Tim, next door. He's still recovering from a bad breakup and is content to stick to his comfortable routine. It's Tim who insists he come to the Queer Alliance's Rainbow Mixer.
At the mixer, Kenn meets David Burgundy, a new-to-town TA who is working on his masters. Dave is drawn immediately to Kenn and is thrilled when Kenn offers to show him the best pizza place in town. One meal leads to two, which leads to Dave and Kenn spending most of their free time together... and Kenn loosening his self-imposed rules regarding dating and sex for some kinky fun.
Kenn's ex isn't going to just let Kenn be, though, and the happier Kenn is with Dave, the less the ex likes it. Will Kenn continue to run away from his past, or will his relationship with Dave help him face it head-on?

Review
This was a very physical story... lots of touching, caressing,
kissing, and much more.
Kenn, is always on his guard and gives Dave his phone number
just after several minutes meeting him.
There is something about that man...
Dave understands he must take baby steps with Kenn, it seems the
man has gone through some awful experiences.
Tiny steps and Kenn is already melting under Dave’s attention.
This can’t go on because there is a violent ex he can’t let him come close to
Dave.
A lovely story, kindred souls, one with experience and one
totally inexperienced. The way Dave shows his Dom side to Kenn was
heartwarming, kind, and dedicated.
The way Kenn opens up to all those overwhelming feelings is
endearing and hot.
Both characters were written with a lot of sexiness, very
appealing!
Again... it’s all very physical and I liked it. The focus on
both men was well done. The world around them could burn down and they would
never know. Dave’s goal is accomplished.
I loved this read, it’s sweet, caring, and considerate, it has
just enough development to make it a charming and engaging story.

Great book recommendation.... hmm Broken by Nikola Haken, I'm loving Lily Morton's Rule Breaker, you can't go wrong with Out in the Offense by Lane Hayes and if you want something more spicy then Sticks and Stones by Kim Dare
