Synopsis

Colt Boudreaux was raised in the Louisiana bayou and is gifted with a talent steeped in the rich and soulful New Orleans blues tradition. He makes a living as a session musician, playing guitar for anyone who needs him. When his manager sends him to New York, the Cajun is as beguiled as he is baffled by the energy of the city—and just as charmed by Kyle Alexander.

Kyle is a successful classically trained ballet dancer, choreographer, and native New Yorker whose unbridled talent defies convention, and whose rebel spirit favors ink, shuns the orchestra, and is every bit as unique as Kyle himself.

They find a connection right away that inspires rhythm and movement, mood and music, both in and out of the bedroom. It’s not long before they’re as obsessed with each other as they are with their art, and they decide to work together on an improvisational piece for Kyle’s upcoming solo exhibition.

But Kyle is focused, and Colt is free-spirited. Colt’s work ebbs and flows with inspiration, and Kyle’s is rehearsed. Kyle is social and sophisticated, and Colt… isn’t. When their talents weave together, it’s magical, but will their differences destroy it all?

Review

Colt Boudreaux is a very talented versatile musician and Kyle Alexander is a ballet dancer and choreographer. That combination pulled me right in from the start.

It was such an enchanting, captivating, and charming read.
The writing was magical, the way they give music life and passion... magnificently done.

Colt is only in town for a gig, and Kyle wants to get his hands on him.
Kyle, progressive as he is, takes Colt with him, right into his bedroom.
Cole is so intimate it’s almost uncomfortable for Kyle... But Cole is here just temporarily so they want to enjoy the other to the fullest... and that’s just what they do.

They are inseparable. Every available moment they are together... easygoing... perfect.
Their combined creativity is almost spirituous.
Their feelings grow undeniably. But hey... it’s all temporary.

Their bedroom interactions are intense and I devoured them all. It was beautifully intense and freely given to each other.

I’m a huge music lover and make music myself, so when I read the passages about creating music... OMG it was soooo emotional how all the music and dance put together in sentences, it was just intoxicating. It opens the mind and soul! My heart was so warm and I cried at the same time. Excellently done... just excellent!

“The music grew softer for a moment, curious; then it attached itself to his heels like a shadow, finding him unerringly.”
This!!

Colt and Kyle... I adored both men, energetic as hell, feelings always on the surface... not afraid to show them.

“He played because his soul needed it”

Something was nagging...slipping in...and it was hurtful ... and then ‘bang’ the balloon collapsed.
I didn’t like it at all... I cried my eyes out.
They are different but also very alike. Both artistic souls, one limitless, the other structured.
Both working their asses off but somehow, somewhere, it does all go downhill.
My heart went out to both men.

Both Colt as Kyle's characters are beautifully developed... you really get to know the whole package, and that means honesty, flawed and all, it stayed consistent throughout the whole story!

It was an extraordinary story, written in an excellent and emotional way. There are so many beautifully high sensitive moments... it’s impossible to give the right impression.
While reading their story, my heart wanted to explode more than once, this story gave me so many goosebumps.

Highly recommended
