Author Saturday Spotlight: Chris McHart #Interview #Giveaway

Today is Saturday and that means it's Author Saturday Spotlight time! I'm excited to have the author of Never Wrong, Small Steps, & the Unexpected Series; Chris McHart here. Of course I subjected Chris to an interview which I would say went well! lol. We will look at Chris's work and of course wrap it up with a giveaway. So, get comfy!

Ben Amann currently hates everything: The accident that temporarily put him in a wheelchair, the fact that he has to go for rehab and live in an assisted living home as well. Sebastian Hofers, the good looking but equally bad-tempered new assistant to his rehab therapist changes that.

Sebastian has two choices after causing an accident while driving drunk: community service hours or go to jail. The decision is a no-brainer, and so he meets Ben at the rehab center. The two of them hit it off and slowly, Sebastian sees more than just a patient in Ben.
But their growing relationship faces hard trials, not only because of Sebastian’s heavy drinking, but also because of the truth

Alex wanted a night of hot passion with Gerome, but he gets more than he ever bargained for. His life will be changed forever in a world where he’ll be thrown in jail— or worse— for being pregnant.

Alex’s best friend, Sam, has been acting strange ever since he met Alex’s one-night stand, but now Alex needs help in order to hide, and Sam is his only hope.

First book in the Unexpected series.

There are currently three books in this series

Jeff was raised to believe love between two men is wrong. Or is it? Can love ever be wrong?

When Jeff meets the much younger Dean, he only knows he wants him, consequences be damned. But things are not as easy, especially after Jeff's ex calls and announces big news.

And Dean? He thinks the new neighbor is hot, but he's not interested in something more than a rebound fuck. That's what he tells himself, at least.

But lust isn't a good basis for a relationship, more so since Jeff isn't sure whether he can deal with being gay.

Love is never wrong, but can Jeff accept that?

What do you do if the Dom you love is half a world away?

When work requires Ryan to leave behind warm and sunny Arizona for cold and snowy Germany, he decides to visit the famous Nuremberg Christmas Market where he meets sexy Julian.
But Julian isn’t an average guy, he’s a Dom. And he wants Ryan to be his sub.
That’s something Ryan has dreamt of, but never admitted to anyone, not even himself. With Julian it suddenly becomes possible.
But what happens once Ryan has to go home, especially since he’s developing feelings for Julian?
There isn’t a future for a relationship if you’re half a world apart…

Interview

Thank you, Chris, for being here today and allowing me to torture you… I mean interview you for a bit. I have vowed to not maim my guests so you are safe. You’ve written in this genre for long enough to know how this all goes and how ridiculous I can be. SO, let’s just begin.

Well, it’s boring to play it safe… just saying. But okay, let’s begin.

What motivates you to write?

The stories in my head. They want to get told, so I’m telling them. My doc says it’s not normal to have voices in your head, but I decided they’re okay as long as they’re only telling me my stories.

If one of your books became a motion picture which would you like to see on the screen?

Small Steps, hands down. It’s still my favorite book.

Of all the characters you have written, who is the most like you and why?

Oh, they all carry parts of me, but no character is like me. I’d love to think I might be like Sam from the Unexpected, but I’m not sure I’m as giving and supportive as he is.

What were some of the best books you read in 2016?

Phew, I definitely don’t have enough time to read, sadly. Hmm. Well, I read the whole Collars and Cuffs Series from KC Wells and Parker Williams and loved them. Also, LA Witt is one of my favorite authors, among others. But I know I missed so many good books, it’s a shame. Really.

Do you have a work ethic and if so what is it?

Yes, I do. First, I have goals, daily, weekly, monthly. They are in a small, black book. And only after I’m done, I allow myself to read or watch TV. If I start reading before I finish for the day, I won’t get any more writing done. I also try to write in the morning, so I have the evening off. (And that makes writing sound like work, when in fact, I want nothing more than to write. LOL)

Who does the covers for your books? Do you stick with the same person or do you move around?

I recently started doing my own covers, and I’m currently also working with a German Publisher as a cover artist.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have 2 of your own books with you which 2 would you have?

Again, Small Steps, because I love it. And my current WIP, because it’s very close to my heart (it’s about horses…) If I need to pick a finished book, then Unexpected 3. I love Gerome, even though he’s an ass sometimes.

Is there an author you’d like to collaborate with, who?

Currently I’m working with Aria Grace (sorry for dropping the bomb! LOL) We’re in the middle of a cool new series, so stay tuned. And I have no idea if I was allowed to tell you that. :/ LOL
I also might have asked a pretty famous author about co-writing (and she said yes!!), but we both don’t have time right now, so that will have to wait.

Can you tell us what you’re currently working on and what 2017 will produce from you?

Unexpected #4 is written and edited, but currently just in German, so I need to translate it, have it edited and then it’ll release. (soon, I hope!)
Aside from that, my book with Aria Grace (I can’t tell you the title yet, sorry) and the Horse-story WIP (working title: Touch Me, but that will most likely change).
I’ve got plans to write at least two more books, both in German and English, so you can expect the sequel to Small Steps (Niko’s story, guys!!) and the last book in the Unexpected Series (#5). Oh, and a couple more with Aria, of course.

  1. I am so glad for this interview. I only now Chris from the book Alex's surprise, but as I don't read Mpreg I dismissed Chris as an interesting author. Reading the blurbs of the other book though I have to change my mind. I will definitely put them on my TBR list.
