A phone call in the middle of the night forces Detective Gabriel Wyatt out of his warm bed and into the frigid night to identify the body of a murdered man whose wallet contains Gabe’s business card instead of an ID. That night sets off a chain of events that chills Gabe to his bones when it appears that the killer has set his eyes on a new target – Josh Roman.

Josh comes face-to-face with a painful reminder of his past just when he’s ready to acknowledge that his feelings for Gabe go way beyond liking the man. How can he trust that his feelings for Gabe are right when before he’d always been so wrong?

Will Josh and Gabe finally acknowledge that what they have is something to live for or will they allow danger and doubts to destroy their chance at something amazing?

Something to Dye For is book 2 in the Curl Up and Dye Mysteries series. These books are written to be read in order. They contain sexually explicit material and are intended for adults 18 and older.

This is book two in Aimee Nicole Walker’s Curl Up & Dye Mysteries. When we first met Gabe and Josh they were at each other’s throats. It was almost too much for my heart to take. When book one ended they were together and happy.
In Something to Dye For they are blissfully in love.

I can’t begin to tell you how much enjoyment I got out of these two when they were loving all over each other. Josh… he's come so far in this book and I admired his strength in every aspect.

Gabe, seriously? Can he be any more amazing!? I just can’t! I don’t honestly know who I love more. So I am going to go love them both.

Through this amazing lovefest there is of course a mystery going on. The books overlap so you have to read them in order. We left book one with a murder and it picks right back up where that left off. And this one ALSO ends on a cliffy. There always seems to be two mysteries happening at once and one is always solved while the other (that is linked to the one solved) is ongoing. To find out the end game you need to read on.

It’s very clever and well put together. Aimee keeps you on the edge of your seat all the while you’re swooning over Josh and Gabe! It’s a marvelously constructed story. I can’t wait until book 3! *Grabby Hands*

The next thing I remembered, I opened my eyes to find Josh standing next to the bed fully dressed with a cup of coffee extended to me. It was a lot like the first time he stayed at my house, except I was happy to wake up there when he hadn’t planned on staying at my house. I told him I’d wake him up and I did, but it was the next morning and not after a few hours like he’d been expecting.
“Breakfast in ten minutes.” Josh set the coffee cup on the bedside table when I made no move to take it from him. “Hit the shower, Big Daddy, because you’re taking me to see Charlotte before I have to do my tedious errands.”
“You didn’t cooperate,” I hollered after his retreating back.
            “Pick your battles, babe.”
“Fine, but then I want a demonstration up in the studio.”
Josh stopped and faced me. “Oh, honey, you’re going to need a few days to rest up after the wicked things I want you to do to me on the hood of your car.”
I whipped back the covers and flung my legs over the side of his bed. I tripped over my shoe and stubbed my big toe in my hurry to get to the shower, but my dick didn’t care about anything as minor as that. “Fuck!” I heard Josh laughing over my discomfort and vowed I wouldn’t be the only one limping that day.

  1. My cousins, when little, were very quiet one day. Well, come to find them in the bathroom and one cut the others bangs off.

  2. I have naturally curly hair so over the years I've had MANY hair emergencies! But the worst was when my stylist was out on maternity and her sub thought it would be a great idea to put heavy layers in my hair!! Somehow it ended up with half my hair being straight and the other super curly!! I freaked out and ended up having to cut my hair way short, when it was very long to get it fixed!! I cried for months!

  3. I haven't had a hair emergency. Hubby took me to a salon though, I told them I want something fun done with my hair (I was hoping to get it multicolored). The both of us specifically told her no chunky highlights...she got all happy and said I have the perfect idea, and proceeded to show what others were getting done at the time...EVERY SINGLE PERSON was getting chunky highlights, meanwhile she was yammering about how awesome the highlights look and talking it up. We looked at the woman blankly then just walked out.

  4. Was it the 70s when I had permed hair (not identifying as gay though) or the 00s when the long hair had far to much silver in it.

  5. evety day there is humidity in the air my hair has a mind of its own

  6. I wanted my hair to be a darker red so I went to the store and bought hair dye. When I was done, my hair was such a dark red it was almost black. I cried when I saw it. I went to the beauty school and they fixed it.

  7. The only time I had a hair emergency was after I watched too many YouTube videos on how to easily cut your own hair. It didn't work out very well.

  8. When I was a Sophomore in High School I let a girl cut my bangs, messed up really bad because when she was done my bangs were so short I couldn't even curl them with the tiny curling iron. Lol

  9. I might have cut my own hair when I was a kid, I don't remember but I do remember cutting my brother's. Right before vacation or pictures or something important.

  10. Not me, really. It's my kid brother who just agreed having ME cutting his hair (I thought, peace of cake! His hair is short anyway!) - and I ended up giving him loopsided style. My dad had to take him to barber shop after that... ;p
My self-inflected only happened when I impulsively cut my own bangs. I prefer going bangless after that...

  11. Hmmm, I don't really have hair emergency. My hair is short, and easily grow again. So even when I was smaller and my Mom cut the hair for me, it didn't look like a disaster *lol*

  12. I cut all my sisters hair off when she was 2 and I was 3 having watched my mum trim my dad's then long hair. She's been stuck with the nickname George her whole life as a result...

  13. One day I decided to dye my hair before I went out that night. Black. Needless to say I spent most of the evening trying to get the dye off my skin.

  14. It was Prom day. My friend & I were an hour away from attending it. We went to our favorite stylist only to discover that she's sick & hasn't appeared for 4 days that time. We were horrified because like me, my friend is especially particular with who does his hair. Cutting the story short, we ended up not attending the prom. Why? We can't be with our boyfriends, anyway. Why? Uh oh, don't ask. *sighs* And you know what's worse? The ones whp did our hair didn't know a thing about hair styling let alone hair cut. We really wanted to throttle him if that isn't a crime. LMAO!

Thanks for coming by to Diverse Reader, Aimee! <3

  15. Well I was about 10 and my hair at the back got in a tangle and I couldn't brush it so my logical mind say lets just cut the tangle out so I did! My mum was not happy and I had a big chunk of hair missing and it couldn't be fixed but I didn't care!

  16. I never had an important hair emergency, my hair. One way or another, I always manage just fine.

  17. When I was young - I think around 8 or so, I got gum all stuck in my hair. I didn't want to get in trouble for chewing gum and falling asleep with it in my mouth. So, instead of telling my mom, I cut the gum out. I had long, thick hair and, of course, the chunks now missing were obvious. Instead of just trouble for the gum, I had trouble for the gum and the scissor work. :-( Plus, my hair got cut short/layered to try to blend the missing chunks.

  18. I've talked about this on FB already but... I decided it would be a good idea to cut my own hair when I was little. I cut a massive chunk and then decided it was a bad idea. Tried to hide it from my mum which didn't work. Got marched to the hairdressers. The only way to fix it was to give me a bowl haircut - it looked tragic!!

  19. My sister-in-law decided that I should lighten my hair for a family special occasion. So, she proceeds to do the kit, but my hair ended up so yangled that what the lightening product didn't cause to fall out, I ended up losing to horrible tangles. I remember seeing so much hair in the shower for a weeks after.
