Review

I am a huge Anyta Sunday fan! I like to start off by saying that. If she writes it I read it. The Signs of Love Series is really outstanding.  Each book is a standalone so feel free to start anywhere.

In Gemini Keeps Capricorn we have Wesley and Lloyd. Wesley is an Elvis loving, third year law student, who loves working at Me Gusta Robusta, a coffee shop. What Wesley loves most is Lloyd, the RA on his floor. Right from the second the book started I knew that Wesley was a firecracker. Where he may be a thorn in some people’s sides he wasn’t for Lloyd.

Lloyd was a saint. Truly. He puts up with so much from Wesley and does it MOSTLY with a smile. From making sure Wesley’s brother goes to school, to ignoring that his brother is staying in the dorms, to family issues and friend dramas. He’s a trooper.

I loved the dynamic these two characters had for sure. The banter was adorable and witty as ever. I did get confused at times about situations and who was talking and ended up having to go back to figure out where I got mixed up.

All in all it’s a really cute, fun story!

“Oh, hotdogs. I love hotdogs.” Wesley patted his pockets and cursed. “I didn’t bring a wallet, and you dumped all your change into the donation bin. Why did you have to be so generous?”

“Yes,” Lloyd said drily, “I should have given less to charity on account of your hotdog needs.”

Wesley grinned. “So long as you’re adequately remorseful. Now come, let’s get me a hotdog.”

Lloyd gave him a quizzical, almost worried look. “You don’t have money.”

“I’ll barter.”

“With what?” Lloyd called out as Wesley skipped ahead to the stand. “And why are you grinning like that?”

Wesley stopped in front of a pretty, twenty-something guy wearing an unfortunate fire-red uniform. He gave him a charmed smile. “Here’s the situation,” Wesley said the moment Lloyd stepped to his right. “I love hotdogs but am out of cash. I was thinking, you give me a hot one with mustard, hold the onions, and I’ll trade you this hunk here.”

Hotdog Guy’s furrowed brow smoothed out and his lips twitched.

Lloyd murmured under his breath and sighed.

“Your hunk for a hotdog?”

Wesley nodded. “He’s very principled. He never breaks the rules, and I’m sure he’d do a great job tending to your meat.”

Hotdog Guy grinned, and the lazy roll of his eye over Lloyd did not go unnoticed. Wesley felt Lloyd’s body shift as he also recognized the lustful look.

“Oh, you find him hot!” Wesley said, using it to his hotdog-seeking advantage. “He’s also an amazing kisser. A little weird about having to do it on a bed, though.”

Lloyd groaned, and Wesley almost laughed at the hard squeeze that came to his elbow.

He continued, “But I’ve read that Capricorns have great stamina and will hold out until they’re sure their partner has arrived, if you understand what I’m saying.”

“Everyone knows what you’re saying,” Lloyd said. “The French tourist with no English on the bench behind us knows what you’re saying.”

Hotdog Guy laughed at Lloyd’s dry retort, making Lloyd straighten and shift his attention.

Something about that clawed under Wesley’s skin, but it was nothing compared to the sharp pull in his stomach when Hotdog Guy made Lloyd laugh.

Wesley wasn’t hungry after all.

“Yeah,” Hotdog Guy said, full-on eye-fucking Lloyd, a lingering gaze at his crotch. “I’ll give you all the hotdog you want.”

With a tight smile, Wesley snatched Lloyd’s arm. “I changed my mind. There aren’t enough hotdogs in the world good enough for this one.”
