Review

This is a beautiful compilation/story of poetry by Phoenix Hell. A dark kind of beautiful.

There's a lot of emotion, pain, and passion in every line, in every word. This is a great example that poetry doesn't have to rhyme to be powerful. It needs to move you. To make you think. To allow yourself to let go and bask in the moment.

Phoenix, no doubt, put a lot of thought into this and at times the vulnerability leapt off the pages.
Very lovely.

About the Author

Phoenix Hell is a pseudonym for his real name. He's in his late twenties and began his love for writing back when he first read a fiction anthology. He wanted to do M/M romance with a paranormal twist. And most of all the books that are running around in his head are dealing with the paranormal or supernatural.
Phoenix hates mornings and loves to stay up late reading or working on a new book. He's very shy, but if you get him to come out of his shell he will make you laugh till you pee your pants. He's also a Wiccan and a clairvoyant. He usually will post things that are going on about him or complain about his family.
So when you see his book for the first time, he hopes that you enjoy it, shed a few tears and fall in love with his characters.
When he's not writing, he's reading books by his favorite authors, drinking sweet tea and just trying to relax.

Review

This is just one of those stories that warms your heart and fills you with happy. In life, we can never be sure where our paths will actually go no matter how much planning and work we put into the outcome. This is one of those stories that shows you sometimes life gives you a better more fulfilling path than the one you thought you wanted.

Hunter Lee is the lead guitarist for his band Merging Violently (Love the name!!) and is tired of just playing small gigs up and down the east coast. He doesn’t just want to make a living, he wants them to be a success.

Edward Monterrose is a well-known horse trainer who doesn’t have time for anything else in his life including getting injured after being thrown from his horse during a training session. After a chance meeting in a small park where Hunter sat working on his songs, Edward asks Hunter out on a date. When Edward asks Hunter if his band wants to play at his benefit where Edward’s famous singer brother will be, well Hunter and his band can’t pass a chance like that up. And if that means Hunter gets to spend more time with Edward out on his ranch well that’s just perfect to him.

This was a sweet and heartwarming romance between two men that are in two different place in their lives trying to make it work with lots of obstacles in the way. The narration of the story flowed so easily and the author was able to move from Edward to Hunter and back without any confusion of who was speaking.  Even though I didn’t read the Home series that this was an off shoot from it didn’t really bother me or affect my understanding of the story.
