Synopsis

In medieval England, duty is everything, personal honor is more valued than life itself, and homosexuality is not tolerated by the church or society.

Sir Christian Brandon was raised in a household where he was hated for his unusual beauty and for his parentage. Being smaller than his six brutish half-brothers, he learned to survive by using his wits and his gift for strategy, earning him the nickname the Crow.

Sir William Corbett, a large and fierce warrior known as the Lion, has pushed his unnatural desires down all his life. He’s determined to live up to his own ideal of a gallant knight. When he takes up a quest to rescue his sister from her abusive lord of a husband, he’s forced to enlist the help of Sir Christian. It’s a partnership that will test every strand of his moral fiber, and, eventually, his understanding of the meaning of duty, honor, and love.

Review

I absolutely love historical gay romance stories. Eli Easton’s newest release The Lion and The Crow depicts a beautiful love story between two men that can never love freely out in the open.

There are so many rumors or fables that are told/written throughout history when it comes to same sex relationship. I have seen movies and TV shows that show that it was a common occurrence for men in higher standards such as Kings, Knights, and even Queens to take lovers of the same sex. However, it was never really discussed as more than just an itch to scratch or out of loneliness if the other sex was not within availability.

To ever consider that two of the same sex could rule a country or kingdom together was unheard of and if found out a lot of times was a death sentence.

So this author’s story of two disguised men who come from royal blood lines travel together in attempts at want could be a death wish rescue. Attempt at fighting their attraction to each other even though being raised to know it’s frowned upon society and a sin within the church. The long days and even longer nights becomes brutal and soon the two men give into temptation.

Those two were determined to be together at whatever cost. This was such an inspiring story. I cried so many tears. Definitely a must read!!!
