When Sunny retires to the northern Ontario wilderness to mourn his parents’ deaths, he’s hoping the change of scenery will afford him some peace and quiet.
His hopes are soon spectacularly dashed.

In self-imposed exile, dragon Emile runs across the Fold between his dimension and Sunny’s—and right into Sunny’s arms. Centuries out of touch with human culture, bright, beautiful Emile incinerates any hope Sunny had for an ordinary existence. With dryads and water sprites coming to life all around them, Sunny can’t deny the magic Emile brings to his life—or his heart. But that same magic leads the unrelenting dragon who would keep Emile captive right to them. To save his love, Sunny will have to reach deep and find some magic of his own.

Jaime Samms is a beautiful writer, and this book was no different. The world she created with Sunny and Emile was sweet and light and full of warmth. The two main characters were quirky in their discovery of each and interactions.

Her world building was slow and unfolded in a way that allows the reader to delve into this place slowly but fully. There were a few things at the beginning that could’ve used some expansion, but I’m the type of person that finds the little things most overlook so it could just be me. The story itself was creative and unique and had me thinking at each step of what was going to happen next. I seriously wanted to skim ahead so I wouldn’t be surprised! LOL

I loved, loved Emile so much! His hoarding of the books as he sat on Sunny’s couch and his lack of knowledge in Sunny’s world all made for a fun story. He was a character that was easy to love. The chemistry between these two wasn’t as heated as some, but it fits them perfectly and was more of a soul connection that was easy to see in every interaction they had.

A perfect world of magic, dragons, fantasy and all the things that hide in the forest.
