Featured Guest: Sammi Cee~ So Much Happening

Diverse Reader is so happy to have Sammi Cee here. She has amazing things to share today and you don't want to miss this! I've had the pleasure to know Sammi for a few years and she's not just a wonderful author but she's a tremendously fabulous friend! So, check out this post and see all the new and cool things coming!

I first want to thank you, Meredith, for having me. In pondering what I wanted to share today, I thought about all of the amazing friendships I’ve built in the last couple of years with authors and other readers, as well as the variety of releases I have coming in the next few months. What stood out to me is that all of it comes down to relationships. Whether I’m talking about my sprinting or plotting partners, the person I’m chatting favorite books with, my travel companions, or the collaborations and series I’m working on, it’s all about connection.

So for today, I’ll tackle the releases that are coming in the next few months. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of collaborating on several books with Michele Notaro since the end of 2018. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be releasing book three of our Interlocking Fragments series, Liberating Love, and we fall more in love with this group of men every day. We’ve spent countless hours talking about the real life dynamics that exist between people, the chords that bind them, and I personally think it’s led to beautiful, loving stories. While we’ve woven their stories together, we’ve shared our lives with each other, and I for one know I’ve grown as a person. It’s truly a blessing that she’s been such a major part of this writing journey with me. Shameless plug: If you haven’t met the men in our series, it’s not too late to catch up before we release Liberating Love, Delaney and Aiden’s sexy story. An ex-convict and a cop age gap that ticks all the boxes.

Interlocking Fragments isn’t the only collaboration I have going right now. Where those have a more serious theme running through them, I have two different standalones coming out with another author, Brittany Cournoyer, and we’re having a blast. Brittany and I worked on a paranormal story last year, but we didn’t quite finish. In talking about it at the beginning of this year, there was another super-fun storyline we started discussing, and since neither of us had time to tackle it on our own, we decided to write it together. The second project will actually come out first, since we wanted to save the other for April. We’re doing Halloween in April; you know, like there’s Christmas in July. We’ve decided that should be a thing. One thing about writing with Brittany is that I’m always laughing, which definitely does the heart and body good. Each book has a completely different vibe, one being contemporary and the other paranormal, but the men in them are equally endearing to us and to each other. I can’t wait until we announce the first one!

Last but not least, I’d like to talk about my new series, Takoda Outreach Center. Do you love this logo by Designs by Morningstar? I don’t know what I would do without Morningstar Ashley listening to me ramble and then coming up with the perfect covers and images for my series. Takoda is an American Indian word which means friend to everyone. In this series, not only will I be focusing on men who have lived to see some of the harder things in life, but also on the community that connects and supports them. If you read my contribution to the Snow Globe Christmas series, Heavenly Melody, you met many of the main cast of characters that this series will focus on. (If you didn’t, I can assure you it’s more than a Christmas story, it’s a tale of hope.)

Writing a series around an outreach center is cutting myself open to share part of my heartbeat. I had the privilege of running a food pantry and the thrift store that funded it when my children were small. The people I met and the friendships I formed during that time were humbling. When I divorced and had to move on from there, I found myself in a position where the kindest family I’ve ever known was dropping off food at my home. They ran a soup kitchen and wanted to make sure the children and I had everything we needed during our transition. The way they went above and beyond fed more than just our bellies. They nourished our souls. I’m writing this series to showcase the compassion I saw and felt in the midst of suffering, while giving these worthy men and their families the love they so deserve.

That’s all I have for today, so thank you for letting me give you a glimpse into what I have coming and why. My relationships I have in real life and in my head mean the world to me, and I hope you can feel that in every word I write.

Bio:

Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.

These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.
