The Act of Privacy

Privacy seems to be a gray area for a lot of people. Part of me can understand why. I log into Facebook and Twitter every day, and am assaulted with the "Drama Post" or the "Tantrum Tweet" The one that screams "PLEASE ASK ME ABOUT THIS STATUS" Because of that, Privacy has become one of those words that nobody understands anymore.

My issue, however, isn't with those mysterious posts. My issue is when people invade where they aren't welcome. Example? SURE! Actors, Authors, Models, basically anyone who is exposed in Social Media. Angelina Jolie becomes pregnant, she needs to contact her PR team and they need to draft up a story for the public. Why? Because if she doesn't and she's seen walking down Rodeo Drive with a baby bump all of a sudden she's a slut and having an affair. It's a price you pay for your status, I get it.
Now, why is it, when celebrities or other known figures share a part of themselves with us we need to poke just a little more? Why do we need to know the nitty gritty? I think we should just be happy that we were given a part of that private life.
I see it A LOT with authors. Mostly because that is where I hang out. When someone releases a new book, it's like Christmas. You are already getting so much of their soul because a writer puts a piece of themselves in every book they write. But, people push and want to know about their love lives, and if that HOT SCENE actually happened in their life. I see it all the time and it disgusts me. I have a saying in my house... "You get what you get and you don't get upset."

You have to see it like this. "If they want you to know, you will." Don't pry! Personal space people!
It's common courtesy, it's being a human being.

For the Love of Coffee

It was only a matter of time until I posted about coffee and why I love it so much. If you follow me on Facebook, or just know me, then you know I have an addiction to the warm, blissful, sweet liquid. The nectar of the Gods, some might say (By some I mean me)

After all my years of drinking it, I'm sure my body no longer responds to it like it used to. That's okay, I am fine with the false sense of hope that it actually jump starts my day. There is something about the first cup in the morning. It's magic!

The steam sends the aroma to my nose, and the first sip (always scorching) is like visiting an old friend.

Okay, I know a lot of you are saying, "She's nuts." But, there are coffee groupies out there who can understand what I'm saying.

I've had people tell me, they appreciate my passion for java, but they are tea people. Tea isn't a bad alternative, not at all. When I don't feel well, I'll have tea. I can't do the green tea thing. Just eew!

When you're pregnant they say, "Don't have more then one cup of coffee a day." That's not like my own personal Hell right there! But, it's for the love of your child right? Sure.

What I'm saying here is, I LOVE COFFEE! Most arguments with me can be ended by handing me a cup of coffee, or a glass of wine... Mmm, wine... We'll leave wine for another day.

Percy or Harry? Hmm... Kinda the same!

The other night I watched Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (No, never read the books) While I was watching it someone made a comment that had me thinking. They said, "I don't understand why Percy Jackson isn't as popular as Harry Potter. I mean the special effects are amazing, and the stories are great."

So, like most of the world I have seen every Harry Potter movie. (No I have not read those books either... hush) I am making this post based solely on the movies!

Here I was, thinking, and as I was deep in thought it hit me. "Wow, they are SO similar."
*Warning* I might have spoilers in here... sorry

Percy Jackson: is the son of Posidon (the only known child of one of the big 3)
Harry Potter: Son of very powerful parents, and one of a kind seeing as he's a horcrux and all.

**So both are a big freaking deal, one of a kind yadda yadda**

Percy Jackson: Goes to Camp Half Blood. Where all the Demi Gods are going these days. It's safe there.
Harry Potter: Goes to Hogwarts. Where all the cool witches and wizards are at.

**So both have kick ass places to learn their magical thingymabobbers**

Percy Jackson: Has 2 besties 1 boy (Grover) 1 girl (Annabeth)
Harry Potter: Has 2 besties 1 boy (Ron) 1 girl (Hermione)

**Self explainitory**

Percy Jackson : The bully boy with daddy issues, Luke
Harry Potter: The bully boy with daddy issues, Draco

**Mmmhmm, I'm seeing a pattern**

Percy Jackson: Mentor is Chiron... Old guy who knows a lot of stuff.
Harry Potter: Mentor is Dumbledor ... Old guy who knows a lot of stuff.

**Yeah, this is creepy**

Yes there are differences, many, but the similarities are freaky. So why is Harry Potter bigger then Percy Jackson? I hope that all the Percy Jackson books are made into movies and they are well received. Only 2 movies have been made of The Percy Jackson Series, and ALL of the HP books are made in to movies already.

I can argue PR, all that crap. But for real, it's a mystery. One of the many things that go through my head.

Why This Blog? Who Am I?

I am a person who has always had a lot to say. I will talk to you in public if you engage, and most of the time I'm "THAT" person starting the conversation. I see things in color and I don't believe any ONE person's opinion matters more then anyone else's. I'm not young, but I'm not old. I have seen a lot and not enough. I AM an incomplete puzzle and I hope to never be put together. I L O V E writing and so I do. (I have BETA's/ Editors and pre-readers for my stories, so don't cringe at my grammar on this blog) I very much enjoy reading and will read anything, literally.

I don't go onto blogs to find out what to read, and I don't take reviews I read to heart. I'm my own person, with my own mind and I alone, will make my own choices. Recommendations for books come from word of mouth. Friends know what I like. Acquaintances who pay attention, know what I like. So when one of them say, "Hey, read this, you'll love it." I will.

My style is eclectic. Movies, books, music, life. I love it all and hate it all. I will wake up and dance to Sia, by noon I will have Beethoven in my ears, and by nightfall I am booty boppin to One Direction. I don't have "A" taste, I have many.

So, what am I doing here? I'm telling you what a diverse reader, and eclectic person, and an incomplete puzzle is up to. We are all trying to survive, I want to live too.

It's your choice if you want to see what's going on in my cranium of chaos. Just remember, I'm Straight not Narrow. *wink*
