I’m in love—Asher Dane is the most impossibly sweet character I have read about in quite a while. The story, Tara Lain’s The Fairy Shop, is part of the annual Dreamspinner Advent calendar and it is a huge hit with me. Nate has brought his five year old daughter, who has been witness to her mother’s drunken boyfriend and his raging anger, to live with him. Little Delly is the product of a fumbling drunken one off between a younger Nate and his then girlfriend. A rushed marriage, quickly followed by a divorce left Delly in her mom’s hands but her poor choice in companions along with her own drinking made the decision to gain custody an easy one for Nate. Unfortunately it also meant the kind of guys who normally rang Nate’s bell (huge hunky types) terrorized his daughter. Of course that hardly happened as Nate didn’t feel comfortable leaving Delly with a sitter since her nightmares were still a near nightly occurrence.

Enter Asher Dane. A magical mountain of a man who not only liked kids but hid a marvelous secret that explained why. As things heat up between Nate and Asher the idea of putting his own needs above Delly’s stops the whole relationship from going forward. Then a visit to a tiny place called the fairy shop changes everything. This was such a lovely short story. The Fairy Shop is just the ticket for some holiday happiness and features some really marvelous characters and lots of hope for happy ever afters and new beginnings for more than just Nate and Asher. I really loved this one and highly recommend it to you.

Remy and Harper

Harper worked at the community center. The center looks for jobs and helps people network as well as socialize. Somehow he has to leave and blinded by his boyfriend he travels with him to California.

Remy, CEO of the family company, works hard to prevent the company from collapsing. Getting a PA isn’t what he wants but they get along very well and Harper is a very intelligent and attractive young man.

With a girlfriend, it’s not fair to think about Harper.

Harper is a big addition to the company, Harper develops feelings for Remy, and Remy can’t get enough of watching Harper.

It seems Harper's boyfriend is a big mistake and can’t handle the fact that Harper breaks up with him. He is getting nasty. 

What a wonderfully warm story, with honest feelings, no second agendas and straight to the point attitudes. 

Remy and Harper together was a delight for the eye. Both with kind personalities. The ex-boyfriend and the girlfriend both had a significant place in this story but it was mostly about Harper and Remy, how they try to save the company and growing to each other. It was altogether a kind of a fairytale about the extremely rich businessman and the sweet poor nerd.

A smoothly written story, with a comfortable pace, enough attention to the most important parts. I loved the community, I loved what the company established and I loved mama Anastasia. There is a lot of delicious coffee, but in the end, they all preferred some sweet tea.
