I love a best friends to lovers book and a love a book centered around a band…Logan Grey’s Love in Progress gave me both! I adored this book and the two main characters so much!

Jayce and Blaine have been best friends since the second grade. They do almost everything together still as adults. They live together, they are a musical duo and have a very popular vlog on YouTube. Blaine is straight, Jayce is gay, and their fans “shipped” them so hard. #Jaine is always trending. Seeing them together filming a vlog, eating a pizza or just sitting on the couch…I get the shipping of these two. They are so committed, affectionate, and dedicated to each other, they’re basically dating without the sex.

After a couple years of YouTube success, this passionate duo has finally been signed to a record deal by Heartbelt Records! It’s time to celebrate and get in the studio and start making their dreams come true. When the tone of their songs come into question a bit…are they romantic love or just friendship songs, they have to decide which direction to take their music and videos in. Blaine has no problems singing songs about romantic love with his adorable best friend. The whole world already thinks they’re a couple. What begins as a way to give young LGBTQ kids music they can relate to makes Blaine wonder how he really feels about his bestie. For Jayce, it makes his love for Blaine harder to deny. This is where I really fell for this book, I loved seeing that friendship spark and begin to burn differently.

This book is so good and it’s so sweetly written. The relationship between Blaine and Jayce is so sincere, affectionate, true and has forever written all over it. I love how comfortable and honest they are with each other. The only thing that’s held back is Jayce’s feelings of romantic love for Blaine. The bond of friendship comes first with these two. Watching them navigate their new career and the budding feelings between them are handled beautifully by this author. I love the value that friendship is given, the care. No one just leaps, there’s much thought behind changing the dynamics of their relationship. Saying that, trust me that when #Jaine sparks, they burn brightly. Jayce and Blaine have electric chemistry both on stage and in the bedroom.

I highly recommend this book. This is a stand-alone, but is Book 3 in the Heartbelt Records series. The only connection each book has is the record company. I’ve already downloaded the first two onto my kindle because I’m very intrigued by them. I’m also really interested in Jason and Caleb the owners of the record label! My fingers are crossed that we’ll get a book about them as well.

BLAINE

“So, to celebrate, we’ve decided to read some of the questions you tweeted us. But there’s a catch—”

“For us,” Blaine interjected, and reached down to their feet to pull up a bottle of wine.

Jayce turned both palms face up to showcase the wine and grinned. “We have to drink every time we see #Jaine mentioned.”

“I think we’re going to die,” Blaine groused. After twisting the cap off the bottle, he pulled both of their mugs closer and tried to pour without making a mess. Nerves and excitement were so mixed up inside him, he felt like a bottle of champagne, one shaken and ready to burst with the emotions.

After three years of going at it alone, Blaine had begun to let go of the dream of signing to a record label. And just when he’d begun to accept that no label would offer them what they deserved, Heartbelt Records came into their lives.

There he sat, announcing to their fans that their lives were changing. So yeah, you could say it was a big deal, hence his shaky ass hands.

Chill out, he told himself. If you spill wine on Jayce’s clothes, he will kill you.

“Don’t worry, honey, I’ll hold your hair back when you’re sick later,” Jayce responded to his comment and took the mug from him, avoiding spillage. As he leaned back, his crop top slid up his torso, a tease and a statement all in one.

Blaine ran a hand through his short hair out of reflex. It was buzzed on the sides, just like Jayce’s, but he kept his blond locks pushed back with a side part instead of letting the fringe fall into his face. He was also dressed in nothing more than sweatpants and a tee, whereas Jayce wore a highlighter bright, orange crop top and black skinny jeans ripped at the knees. Because of the camera placement, viewers would only see them head to waist, but Jayce never did an outfit halfway.

Patting his hand around on the couch, he found his phone and tapped the blue icon of the Twitter app.

“Ready?” he asked, and gestured to the wine.

“For alcohol poisoning? Bring it on,” Jayce teased, and sent the camera a flirty look before scooting closer on the couch.
