Synopsis

Since the death of his submissive lover two years ago, Leo hasn't been living--merely existing. He focuses on making Collars & Cuffs, a BDSM club in Manchester's gay village, successful. That changes the night he and his business partner have their weekly meeting at Severinos. Leo can't keep his eyes off the new server. The shy man seems determined to avoid Leo's gaze, but that's like a red rag to a bull. Leo loves a challenge.

Alex Daniels works at Severinos to scrape together the money to move out on his own. He struggles with coming out, but he's drawn to Leo, the gorgeous guy with the icy-blue eyes who's been eating in his area nearly every night.

Leo won't let Alex's hesitance get in the way. He even keeps him away from the club so as not to scare him. And as for telling Alex that Leo is a dom? Not a good idea. One date becomes two, but date two leads to Leo's bedroom...and Alex discovers things about himself he never realized and never wanted anyone to see.

Review

Nick J Russo did a magnificent job in bringing K.C. Wells' An Unlocked Heart,  alive for me.  His ability to become each character and truly understand them, showed through his storytelling ability.

Nick did a fabulous job with Leo the Dom. The way he portrayed his character was exactly how I envisioned Leo. He was able to not only make him the powerful and most sought after Dom in the nightclub, but also brought out a very lonely man, that was hurting so much. Yet, at the same time was scared to ever open his heart to love.

Alex was definitely Nick's masterpiece in this audio. I absolutely loved how he took on the voice and persona of Alex. From the scared and quiet young man, to the fierce and curious lover.

For me, this was more of a love story with just a touch of BDSM. The sex was definitely scorching hot!!! The beginning and learning slowly of what BDSM meant to Alex and for them as a couple truly made me like this story even more.

Review

K.C. Wells writes a delightful story of a fake and witty office romance in her book  My Fair Brady.

Jordan Wolf is his work, there is hardly anything else more important to him than his company. As some of us can relate to. It seems at times bosses don't really seem to realize the impact their personal assistants have in their day to day lives until something happens and they are without them for a long period. This is what happens to our sexy workaholic Jordan when his right hand man Brady Donovan gets the flu.

Brady Donovan loves his job and secretly his boss for the last few years, so when Jordan comes to his house unannounced and sees Brady looking furthest than his best and inserts himself into Brady's recovery, something shifts between this duo.

Soon after Brady is feeling better, Jordan needs a big favor that changes the course of both their working and personal relationship forever.

This is an amazing, heartwarming, lovable and at times full of cheerful laughter. Definitely a must read.

Review

“Life-and sexuality-is not something etched in stone, but written in the sand”

Every once in a while, I’ll stumble across a line in a book that I wish I could have on a sticker or embossed into a piece of wood.  When I read that line, I knew that was one of them because it’s so true.  We have a tendency to think our course is mapped out, our destiny preordained.  But then Life throws us a curve ball, and everything gets thrown out of whack.

The same can be said for human sexuality.  We like to think in binary terms, like computer code made up strictly of ones and zeros.  But sexuality is much more complicated than that.  And when emotions get involved, everything can go up in a puff of smoke.

So, considering all of that, it shouldn’t be too much of a stretch to understand how two self-professed straight guys can fall in love with each other and ultimately have no problem with it.  Especially when the guys have known each other for well over two decades and in ways that no one else does.

This book isn’t your typical romance.  It’s not angsty.  It’s not overly dramatic.  There’s no real “black moment.”  It simply charts a relationship between two men, from the time they meet as children to the point when they realize their feelings for each other go well beyond the bonds of simple friendship and brotherhood.  Even the realization that they’re in love with each other is relatively drama free (thanks in some part to two sets of parents who saw the truth in their relationship long before Matt and David do.)

Isn’t that what all of us wants:  to lead a life as drama free as possible and to simply love who we love?

Highly recommended

Review

Everyone has their favorite tropes, certain plot devices that draw them to a book, and I’m no different.  One of my favorites is Friends-to-Lovers, primarily because it takes a relationship that already exists, feelings that are already there, strengthening and deepening them.  Throw in a little Gay for You, and I am totally there!
“Bromantically Yours” has both, and I couldn’t have been more excited to read this.
Nate and Dylan have been the best of friends for decades.  They know virtually almost everything about each other.  Almost.  One night, they share a kiss that changes everything.

The thing I really liked about this book was the fact that, after the kiss, they actually talked.  There may have been a little awkwardness, but that was only brief.  They didn’t avoid each other, nor did they pretend like it didn’t happen.  They confronted it head on, and, surprisingly, decided to find out where it would lead.  I think that showed the depth of their friendship.  What follows is a nice story of new kind of love developing and strengthening a love that was already there.

Blurb

Can a touch of Satin bring a straight copper to his knees?

Detective Joel Hunter is on surveillance when he first lays eyes on Satin, the singer with the amazing voice, which is as beautiful as she is. But when the stake-out comes to an end, he can’t resist going back to the bar. He gets a shock when he learns what lies beneath the satin dress, but an even bigger one when he realizes he’s attracted to the owner of that sultry voice - Ross Dauntry.

Ross can’t figure out why the cop keeps coming back, even after he’s learned the truth. Is Joel attracted to him, or to Satin? Because the answer is important, and one way or another, Ross needs to know…

A standalone novella of satin and sensuality...

Although this story is in the same series as Lace, you will not find Dave and Shawn in these pages - Joel and Ross provide enough heat of their own.

Review

Satin is a book I was so excited about! I loved what K.C Wells had done with Lace and couldn't wait to read more. This is the second book in a series but reads as a complete stand alone. I have to say, my excitement was warranted, I loved this book!

Joel Hunter is a straight "copper", a Detective Constable. Being in the police force runs in Joel's family. Joel and his partner Trish are friends, something Joel doesn't seem to have a lot of. Joel doesn't think he's good at relationships and he doesn't think he's missing much either. He is content with work and going after a promotion, rather than pursuing romance.

Ross Dauntry is a female impersonator named Satin and sings in a club several nights a week. Ross is a beautiful dancer, he loves people and he loves falling in love. Ross is sweet, talented, funny and wears his heart on his sleeve. He spots Joel and Trish as coppers right away when they are on stake out in the club he sings in. Ross especially notices Joel.

When Joel spots Satin during his stake out, he's immediately drawn to the beautiful woman with the fantastic voice. He loves her taste in music and is very intrigued by her. When the stake out ends, Joel surprises himself by going back to the club to see Satin. Satin surprises Joel even more by introducing himself as Ross. Joel had no idea that a man was hidden beneath all that Satin. Ross invites Joel for coffee and before he knows it, he says yes. The two become friends, but each has a lot of questions. Is Joel attracted to a man, Joel wonders. Ross wonders is Joel attracted to him or to Satin. These are questions they'll both need answers to because they can't seem to stay away from each other.

This was such a good book! I love that Joel is so together on the outside and has so many doubts on the inside. I absolutely love Ross, he knows who he is, flaws and all. Together these two just make so much sense to me, I love what they're able to give to each other. 5 star read and I highly recommend going back and reading Lace too, if you haven't already. These books will not disappoint!

Author Bio

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

K.C. loves to hear from readers.

Synopsis

Six years ago Ellis walked into his first briefing as the newest member of London’s Specialist Firearms unit. He was partnered with Wayne and they became fast friends. When Wayne begins to notice changes—Ellis’s erratic temper, the effects of sleep deprivation—he knows he has to act before Ellis reaches his breaking point. He invites Ellis to the opening of the new BDSM club, Secrets, where Wayne has a membership. His purpose? He wants Ellis to glimpse the lifestyle before Wayne approaches him with a proposition. He wants to take Ellis in hand, to control his life because he wants his friend back, and he figures this is the only way to do it.

There are a few issues, however. Ellis is straight. Stubborn. And sexy. Wayne knows he has to put his own feelings aside to be what Ellis needs. What surprises the hell out of him is finding out what Ellis actually requires.

Review

This book is a spin-off from the Collars & Cuffs series that has Jarod and Eli making a move to London and opening up their own BDSM called Secrets. We get a small glimpse at some familiar faces from that series, but this book does not require reading that series.

I struggled to contact with Wayne and Ellis the first portion of this book. I can’t even tell you what it was that was making me feel that way. It could’ve been the chemistry between the two guys or the uncertainty of how these authors were going to bring them together, but whatever it was it was throwing me off.

I loved Wayne with his sense of humor and how he was a leader in all ways that his team needed him. The dynamic that the team had especially in the police force and having an out and proud
gay man leading the team was incredible. Wayne wanted to use the guiding hand that he’d always used with Ellis on the job, in private but Ellis struggles with it. And man, does he have the patience of a saint when it comes to Ellis and the phone calls and the leaving. But you can tell he really wants to take care of Ellis and loves him.

A lot of his struggles come from his family situation, a situation that I truly understand and on some level can easily see parents brainwashing their child into believing in what they taught him, which they did from a very young age. Ellis is in a tight spot when it comes to his job, and his family adds on top of it the BDSM Wayne is throwing at him I was glad he didn’t come around quickly. But it makes complete sense that submitting to another man in his situation would been even harder to fall into.

The banter between the two men later on in the book when things are going well between them is fun and made me smile. The development with Ellis’s sister was sad but uplifting all the same.
Although it is long, it’s well paced and flows. There's alternating POV even within a chapter, but it is clearly marked and easy to get used to the change, so no head hopping, not that surprises me with these two authors. Great story that’s light on the BDSM, heavy on the sexy, and light on the angst.

Interview

Well, it’s very exciting to have a dynamic duo like the two of you as our Author(s) Saturday Spotlight. We’ve never had a double up so this is exciting. You have a new release Before You Break. Our lovely Morningstar reviewed it below and for a while now it seems to be one of those books people have been so excited about. Congrats on the new book. Today I’m going to ask you both some questions. Some together some separate. Hopefully painless.

For both of you: How did you meet?

Parker: I met her at the candy store, she turned around and smiled at me, you get the picture?

K.C.: He was reading ‘An Unlocked Heart’ and messaged me to tell me how much he enjoyed it. I asked him if he was interested in hearing about the second book, ‘Trusting Thomas’. His answer hasn’t changed much since I’ve known him: “Duh.”

For you both: When did you both decide you wanted to write books together?

K.C.: I asked him if he’d consider writing a book with me. He said no.

Parker: In my defense, she’s freaking K.C. Wells! I was a nobody. Then one night at work, I had an idea for a story about a boy from the US who went to the UK because someone he’d never met sent him a ticket. I talked to her about it and from that came ‘Someone to Keep Me’.

K.C.: Er, excuse me? When I asked you, I had ONE book published. Okay, so I’d written four, but still… (It’s a good thing I love him, right? ;-) )

Parker: What was your first impression of KC?

She was funny, smart, sweet, cute, cuddly, and adorable.
Hey, wait a minute… K.C. why are YOU answering for me? (Just kidding. She is all those things and more.)

KC: How did you know that you were going to be able to collaborate with Parker so well?

By the time we started writing, we were already having these verbal sparring bouts on Facebook. People came by to watch with popcorn. I’d read his first book, Pitch, and I loved his style. But when the moment arrived to start, we were already friends who talked every day on Skype. I just… knew.

Parker: What is the hardest part about collaborating?

Waking up at 2 in the morning to talk with her while she sips coffee. Beyond that, working with KC is great. I’ve learned a lot from her. Including to look for SQUIRRELS! (Which is my way of saying both of us can be pretty easily distracted.)

K.C. : snort    Ya think?

KC: What’s your favorite thing about writing with someone else?

Bouncing ideas off one another. I love it when I get a message when we’re in the middle of writing, that begins with OOH. It usually means he’s had another great idea.

For you both: How did you form the idea for Before You Break?

Parker: When we were writing the last two books of Collars & Cuffs, I suggested that if we did a new series, Eli & Jarod should move to London to open a BDSM club. KC liked the idea, so we began to discuss possible storylines. One of them was Wayne and Ellis, two police officers. We ran several potential plots through the betas and asked them for their opinion.

For You Both: Can you tell us what you’re currently working on together or separate?

Parker: We’re on the last two chapters of ‘An Unlocked Mind’. If the title sounds similar to K.C.’s first book in the Collars & Cuffs series, ‘An Unlocked Heart’, it’s because it features Alex’s brother, the selfish prick known as Rob. I’ve also got ‘Haven’s War’ coming in June (it’s the sequel to Haven’s Creed and deals with Haven coming up against an enemy that has killed other agents and seems to be looking for him.) And in July I have Runner coming out from Dreamspinner (my first solo book with them as Parker).

K.C.: I’ve just finished writing Lace, a standalone short story. Next it’s BFF, my last Dreamspun Desires title. And after that? Well, let’s just say it will be a departure from my usual writing style ;-)

Could either of you ever collaborate with anyone else or is this unique?

Parker: I’m not sure. To be honest, I’m not super-confident in my writing. I’m getting better, but not sure how well I could work with someone else. K.C. is patient with me, which I totally appreciate. Plus she’s easily distracted by SQUIRRELS!

K.C.: I’ve been asked by a couple of authors, both of whom have writing styles that would gel well with mine. The only thing would be finding the time, because there seriously aren’t enough hours in the day!

How can each of your readers follow your work: Websites, Twitter, Facebook etc…

K.C.: Twitter, Website, Facebook,
