Review

A bow to this author who managed to create a heartbreaking story without the feeling that it couldn’t be mended again. It was all breathtaking!

One thing is for sure Tay is Jonty’s best friend! Throughout the whole story, the friendship is there.
Jonty is alone and broken, you can feel it in every written line. His witty snarky humor hides his brokenness.

When haughty Devan enters the hotel where Jonty works Jonty can’t help but play a bit with Devan. Devan bites back.
Devan is on a holiday, not really, but he escaped home. He found his fiancé in bed with... his brother. He can’t face them anymore not after they planned to get married.
He’s angry, furious and when you can read between the lines you’ll understand he’s hurt, deeply.

He finds the hotel nice, but it needs an upgrade and some new employees because this guy Jonty annoys him so very much! Buying the owner out and make it a big 5-star hotel. That’s the plan.

“This futile, irritating attraction was starting to annoy him. He was even annoyed that he partly enjoyed it annoying him.”

After they are together in a death threatening experience... things start changing. Omg how things around them are changing, it was in a breathtaking way. Jonty shows Devan his life.

By the misty bits, Jonty reveals to Devan, he (and we) understand Jonty is full of secrets, secrets and hurt, every wave of hurt he smiles and talks away. Devan is in awe and in love.

An extended and beautifully written narrative. There is a lot of activity, fun ones and quite disturbing ones. There is a stalker to find, and horrible exes, stubborn family, painful pasts, bright-looking futures, joy and laughter, hope so much hope, wonderful friendships, dedicated friends, and worshipping lovers. What a ride, what a story. The author did a tremendous job.
From first sight, I understood Jonty was something special and precious.
His life is complicated and several heavy issues weighing on his shoulders. If the use of his mouth is an indication you can conclude it was a lot. He was exhaustedly overwhelming with words.
This is an exceptional story, while I loved every bit of it, I would also be satisfied with a bit less, it was a lot to take in. It was too large to read in one sit, I took every available free minute to read and read. After finishing I couldn’t let them go.
Highly recommended!

Review

First a shout out because my goodness what a great story!!

Red and Lázhien

Ōkkanȏ Kyatto aka Red is a thirty-three-year-old lust demon a Tii-Matâshi, a whore, earning good money. When a big rough looking bear of a sergeant looks at Red, he’s shocked but Red haughtily turned around and dismissed the man. In shock because dang that was his fated soulmate!
He doesn’t want to be tied to anyone, and he certainly doesn’t need anyone.

Lázhien admires the beauty of the creature standing on the balcony looking down at the buzz of the whorehouse. He also concludes he’s a snob and he wants him!

A bond is hard to deny. Recognize your mate and an intense lust starts. Then an idea pops up in Red’s head, they’ll f*ck each other’s brains out and afterward they will carry on, separately.

After the incredibly intense and most fulfilling night of his life with Lázhien, Red has to survive the next two weeks until the d*mn bond expires.
Lázhien feels hurt by Red and his refusal to bond, he is head over heels.

Stepping into the enchanting Order Universe, a magical world where we can find Incubus, Elves, Mages, and Art was more than breathtaking.
The glossary at the beginning was awesome, I was already sold by all the foreign creative designations.
It was an immensely powerfully written story, it had a snarky dirty language, just delicious!
The emotional parts were also well voiced and palpable.
The way this author expresses the scenery was great to visualize. It all felt right and made sense.
I loved this passionate story enormously, with all the beautiful creatures, strong-headed characters, and thank goodness an hea.
A winner for sure!

Release Day Review: Unlikely Match by Lily Michaels #Review #Giveaway

Synopsis

Almost two decades of boxing couldn’t prepare Clayton for the biggest fight of his life—one that put love on the line.

Boxing had been Clayton James’ life for nearly twenty years, but the threat of a serious injury if he continued to fight forced him into retirement. Refusing to be down for the count, he carried his love of the sport into a new career as the owner of a gym. But low membership and a tightly stretched bank account mean he’s faced with closing his doors—or taking one more match to save his business.

The bullying that Tyler Kirk thought he’d left behind in high school not only managed to carry over into college but also seemed worse. Being older than the average student because of the years he’d taken off to rehabilitate his sister after the accident that robbed them of their parents didn’t lessen the attacks he faced. His chance to find peace was in the meaty hands of the finely chiseled and sexy-as-hell owner of the gym he hoped could give him self-defense training.

Neither man expected the adversarial start of their relationship to melt into something that quenched Clayton’s long-neglected need and one that Tyler wasn’t even aware he had. Nor could they prepare for the intense sexual chemistry that flowed between them to quickly morph their training schedule into a hot and heavy hookup routine.
But the risks of Clayton’s final match are amplified when it’s no longer simply his health and well-being on the line but also the love of a good man and the promise of family.

Reader advisory: This book contains references to a fatal car crash, as well as homophobic violence and bullying.

Review

Clayton is the owner of CJ Gym & Boxing Club, after he’s forced to retire.
Tyler is skinny, almost looks like a kid, and has been bullied all his life. He’s his sister's caretaker after their parents died.
When Tyler enters the gym, he’s clear he wants to learn to defend himself against the bullies.
His whole attitude is demanding and that triggers something in Clayton.
Clayton’s demeanor trigger something in Tyler he never knew he had. Tyler is way too young for him. But never judge a book by its cover!
Clayton starts training Tyler and Tyler starts reading about D/s dynamic and relationships.
Clayton is welcomed into Tyler and his little sister lives, it’s his chance for a family. If only he didn’t have to make a life-changing decision that could ruin him, literally.

This is a super-fast-paced, short story, sexy, sassy, snarky, more than enough and very clearly developed. Every important fact is mentioned. I’m always in awe how authors can create a satisfying story with emotions, definitions, and a clear plot with even an HEA in just about a hundred pages! Tyler and Clayton were more than sexy in their scenes. The learning process was just like Tyler’s whole being convincing, the dynamic between Clayton and Tyler was awesome.
Overall a very attractive narrative.

My first read from this author but certainly not my last!
