Review

What happens when you meet the man of your dreams and your worlds couldn’t be further apart? That is a running theme through this book, a situation several characters find themselves in.

Trevor is a young business owner and a very talented artist. He’s living his dream, running a cafe of his very own, he is someone who is very active in his community. Trevor feeds the people he loves, he takes beautiful pictures for people that can’t get out in the world as easily as he can. He is a good guy...he is a lonely guy even though he’s not alone.

Jordan moves to Trevor’s town after coming away from a train wreck of a band. Jordan is the one with the talent and he needs time to figure out what he’s going to do. His talent is big and so are his opportunities. When he meets Trevor, he’s drawn to him. Soon the two are spending time together and attraction grows into something so much more. The two have big decisions to make, as do some of their friends.

This is a sweet, sexy book filled with young people still finding their way. This is my first book by this author and I’m hoping I know what’s coming next.

Blurb

When Kylor Knightley, a multi-millionaire nightclub owner, is out talent-spotting at an open mic event in London’s Limehouse district, the last thing the stiff-lipped Brit expects is to fall head-over-heels for a devastatingly handsome singer ten years his junior.

Born in New York, twenty-two-year-old Eden McFadden now calls London home and has ambitions of making it big in the capital’s music scene. In the meantime, the feisty free spirit is secretly rocking it as a stripper at a gay club in Soho. But when fate brings him and Kylor together in Limehouse, it starts a chain of events that tears both of their worlds apart.

It’s going to take some serious attitude adjustment for the smart-mouthed stripper and the arrogant British gent to find common ground, but the attraction is too strong to ignore. Sometimes you have to trust in fate and see where it takes you.

Excerpt

Eden was so pumped about meeting the guy with the sparkling turquoise eyes that he couldn’t wait to tell someone. He wasn’t usually one to gossip, but he’d pulled up a chair alongside Blade, who was busy removing his guyliner. Eden was talking to Blade’s reflection in the mirror, relating the moment he’d looked down and seen the gorgeous guy staring back up at him.

Just then someone shouted, “Which of you is green?” and there was the stranger; standing in the doorway next to a security guard.

Eden sat gawking at his visitor and all the strength drained out of his body as if someone had pulled his plug. Blade nudged him. “Don’t just sit there. That’s your guy, isn’t it? God, he really is gorge!”

Eden slowly got to his feet, praying his knees wouldn’t give way, and shoved a shaky hand in the air. “That package is for me.”

The weak attempt at humour was his way of handling the embarrassment he felt because he knew that if the token had been black or pink the security guard wouldn’t have needed to ask whose it was. Everyone knew Stemmy’s tokens were black and Oberon’s were pink. But this was only the second time Eden had handed out a token. The last time he’d invited a guy backstage, his guest had been under the mistaken impression the token entitled him to instant sexual gratification, but Eden hadn’t been that into the guy.

The guard nodded at Eden’s visitor and left.

Still in just his pink briefs, Eden scurried back to his own station and rummaged around in his duffel bag for a clean top. The first thing to come to hand was his old Keep Calm and Carry On Funking T-shirt. He quickly pulled it on and rolled it down his sweat-dampened chest and abs. Then he stood by his dressing table, ready to greet his guest, with one hand resting on the table for support. Eden knew he shouldn’t be getting this worked up over someone he’d only just clapped eyes on. He had no idea what the guy was like. I haven’t even spoken to him yet. Maybe he’s just a good-looking asshole in a suit.

As the guy approached, Eden’s eyes widened in awe. It felt like he was watching the scene through a slow motion filter. He was entranced by the rhythmic sway of the guy’s narrow hips and everything else in the room faded to a blur. The guy’s suit jacket was unbuttoned and his left hand rested inside the trouser pocket, while his right arm hung loose by his side. It was like a breath of self-assured elegance had wafted into the room.

And then there was his hair. It was glorious. A flame-coloured shock of tumbling waves, its hue changed as the light danced over it, like an abstract of wildfire and scorched earth. It jarred with the image of the sophisticated city gent in the cool blue suit. It was hypnotising, the way the picture was so wrong and yet so right.

Eden could tell straight away this guy was no bit player on life’s stage. He had a starring role. You could tell from his arrogant swagger that the only rules he ever played by were his own. He was like a dream come true to Eden. A guy with “Fuck Me” written all over him and a seriously hot “Fuck You” attitude to compliment the looks.

Eden swallowed hard. Where have you been all my life?

Despite always having lived in the same area she has seen a fair bit of the world, from the eerie innards of the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid, to the majestic vistas that come with snowboarding in the Rockies.

However, none of these life experiences prepared her for the emotional roller-coaster ride of penning a novel. Now she has become so accustomed to having four handsome gents in her life – her husband, her dog and her two main characters – that she can’t imagine life any other way.

Review

This is such a sweet and adorable novella. It's a story about two guys, Luca and Gus, and they are about to get married. With marriage and weddings comes drama and a lot of stress.

Luca's mother is a piece of work, no question. She's what I refer to as a life ruiner. Luca is a breath of fresh flamboyant air. He wants to wear a veil and look positively fabulous and feel beautiful on his special day. And this is where the problem lies with his mother. She just comes right in like a tornado of terror and judgment. Gus is an anchor for Luca and I adored how he loved Luca no matter what. Luca has a wretched mother but he has Gus and his amazing family.

This is a story about unconditional love. How it holds us up when ignorance tries to tear it down. It's about the strength of love and the power of acceptance. This is a lovely and romantic story!

Blurb

Sam Holloway is a desperate man. Trapped in Dante’s, the high-class London brothel catering to men who love men, his only hope is to find a rich protector. Then he meets the young aristocrat with sad eyes.

Tristan Barrington, sixth earl of Chiltern, waited until the death of his father before acting on his unnatural desires. Dante’s has a reputation for quality and absolute discretion. He never expected to find in its sordid depths a glorious man who could master not only his body but his heart, as well.

In Tristan, Sam sees an opportunity to flee a life he hates, and he sets his sights on seducing the earl. Tristan vows to help him escape, but in the process not only uncovers the vile corruption at the heart of Dante’s but also suspects that Sam’s declaration of love was nothing but a lie.

Then Sam is gravely injured, and Tristan faces a tough decision -- leave Sam to his fate, or help him once again?

Companion book to The Wrong Kind of Angel but can be read as a standalone. HEA.

 Review

Another historical hits it out of the park!

I loved these two guys and how they were opposites in so many ways in a time that already made being together difficult. Sam was a prostitute that worked in a brothel run by a cruel man. Tristan is an Earl and well to do. Sam was kicked out by his father for being caught with a boy and many bad decisions are made landing him in a dangerous situation. Sam comes from a wealthy family, although not loving, it was normal for his status in life. Sam wanted escape, Tristan wanted love.

Both are still trying to find a way through their own lives that would bring them some happiness. Tristan and Sam have so much to learn about each other and they are not good at communicating. There are hurts, deceptions, and struggles all added to the fact that since Sam escaped the brothel he and Tristan are being hunted by Mosely, the right hand man and all around bully, to the owner of the brothel.

I loved the cast of characters from good to funny to bad to cruel. Each one bringing a layer to an already well written love story. The settings from the brothel where they met, to the apartment that Tristan set Sam up in, to the house party they go to, all were beautifully described and help set the scene for the time period. There is romance, angst, drama, and suspense each making you turn the next page and both want to see what happens next and never want to leave their world.

The ending was truly satisfying and well thought out bringing us a true HEA for the times. Alfie and Gareth had some serious tension going on and I hope the author decides to write their story. I know that this is the second book in the series but it reads as a standalone. But it was so well written I would love to get book one with Charlie and Harry!

I decided to write gay romance after reading some fantastic books and falling in love with the genre, so am really thrilled to have my work published here. The day job takes up a lot of my time, but every other spare moment finds me writing or reading. I live in the north west of England with my husband who thinks that I live in two worlds. Exclusive Excerpt

Reggie looked around, hands deep in his pockets and head up. He had been to the practice area a few times, but under the pale moonlight alongside Russell, the place had a completely different charm.
He caught up with the English player on the green field, but chose to stay a step away from him. He stared as Russell mimed the movement, and thought how charming he looked in the night light: Russell Lee, with a golf club in his hands, seemed to brighten with the intensity of a star, and would continue giving the world his light even if he were gone.
“Hey, Weston. Do you want to come over and play or do you want to wait until they close?” Russell asked, bringing Reggie’s musings to an end. “Let me see how you putt.”
Putting…well, he was a professional player, so he could do it. Or not?
He took the club from Russell’s hands. Then, instinctively, he moved his hand to the back pocket of his trousers: no, he hadn’t

brought his gloves. No need for one for the putter. He blushed. “Does it feel good in your hands?” the Englishman asked
in a kind voice. Russell treated him as if he were a child, and Reggie didn’t know how to react.
“Well, maybe it’s a little too long for me…”
Russell returned the club to its place and brought back another.
“Mmm, so you use a shorter one? After all, you’re dinky.
Try this one. It’s three inches shorter.”
Dinky? He wasn’t as tall as Russell, but “dinky”…Reggie grunted a protest while taking the club.
That was better, at least, it seemed to be. Keeping his hands still, he swung slowly like a pendulum.
“It has to feel it good in your hands,” Russell said. “You have to feel like it’s yours.”
Reggie widened his stance and leaned forward slightly, elbows bent. He swung the club a couple times, but when he was ready to strike, something happened.
Russell stayed his hand with a tight grip.
“You have to feel it like it’s your man…” he whispered, lips next to Reggie’s ear.
Reggie trembled, body shaking as if it were buffeted by a hot and devastating wind.
God, his hands…his hands on mine.
“Close your eyes, Reggie,” the Englishman continued, his hot breath dangerously tickling Reggie’s earlobe.
Reggie, he called me Reggie. Oh my.
He felt Russell coming closer, filling the little space between them. Russell’s pelvis touched Reggie’s lower back, an innocent gesture that confused him totally. And excited him.
Reggie gasped for air, and his heart beat faster as the Englishman’s warmth wrapped him like a soft wool scarf.
“Do you know about lower dantian breathing, Reggie?” Russell asked, blowing on Reggie’s skin.
“I…I’m not sure,” he blabbered. He couldn’t think straight.
Even if someone had asked him when his birthday was, he wouldn’t have been able to remember.

“Before a difficult shot, close your eyes. The world doesn’t exist anymore; it’s just you, your golf club, and the ball. Let yourself go, free yourself, and connect with your breath, Reggie…”
Reggie obeyed. He closed his eyes as if preparing for the most important shot of his entire career. He was completely at Russell’s mercy and, for the first time, he wanted nothing else for the rest of his life.
“For the Chinese, the origin of your breath is here, in the
dantian point.”
Russell’s left hand let go of Reggie’s to gently rest on his belly. His touch was so hot, Reggie could feel it even through the T- shirt. He shivered under the pleasure as turmoil cascaded over him.
Russell’s hand moved slowly, finding Reggie’s belly button, then it stopped.
Reggie swallowed—twice—and his dick yanked in his trousers. He couldn’t deny it anymore. He had an erection, for Russell and in front of Russell, on the practice green. He’d die of embarrassment if he survived the excitement…
Maybe the British player hadn’t noticed it, maybe the soft lights had done their job.
Maybe…
Reggie closed his eyes and moistened his lips. He and Russell Lee—he had never felt as alive as when he was next to the man.
Then Russell drifted two fingers under Reggie’s belly button and left them there.
“Concentrate on your breathing, Reggie. Breathe deeply, until here, in the center of your belly…” He pushed his fingers a little lower than Reggie’s belly button and, under that pressure, Reggie feared he wouldn’t be able to resist. “While you breathe, keep your eyes closed and visualize the right posture, the correct grip, the path your ball will make…”
The more Russell spoke, mouth moving closer to Reggie’s ear, the more his voice dropped to a whisper.
“Hit it, now,” he ordered, letting Reggie go.
Reggie obeyed, mechanically. He hit the ball while keeping his eyes closed, and he heard it roll into the hole, a perfect shot.
Reggie opened his eyes again. His head spun, as if he’d just gotten off a roller-coaster. The Englishman smiled, proud of his teaching, then put one hand in his pocket.
“You know, Westie,” Russell said, bent bending over to retrieve the ball, “one day you’ll win your first tournament and I’ll be there to congratulate you with a pat on your shoulder. Take that as a promise.”
