About the book:

Grounded is a sequel to Cookies, but it’s Shane and Greg’s story and can be read on its own. I’ve had this book in the works for what seems like ages now. It was a difficult book to write, not only because of the subject matter but also because it doesn’t follow the typical romance novel arc. I had a lot of decisions to make while writing this book, but in the end I just left the characters tell their story as they wanted. I feel that’s the most organic way to do it, especially because I’m a linear writer and have to follow the story as it happens.

What I can say for sure is that Shane and Greg are one of the most intense couples I’ve ever written. Their bond is so strong that as I was writing I felt nothing could hurt them or break them apart. As it often happens, I turned out to be wrong.

But don’t worry, HEA/HFN are guaranteed in all my books, so they eventually get there, but at what cost?

Grounded by Teodora Kostova has been the first very emotional read of the year for me. The subject matter was of the nature that hit a little close to home but was so remarkably written that I could not put it down. 

This is a beautifully written story of two men that meet by chance and have a one night stand, only to meet up a year later to reconnect and embark on one of the most trying relationships. One that was met not only with distance, death, and war but with personal demons as well. 

Shane a med student at Uni who is trying to be there for his mother and brother while studying away, feels the pressure all the time. Things only gets worse when his brother gets horribly injured in the war and comes back to live with their mother.

Greg's family life growing up was horrible and as soon as he turned 18 he joined the military, RAF division, and became one of their best pilots. He loved everything about flying and couldn't see himself doing anything else. 

Then one night at a bar, Shane and Greg meet and neither of their lives are the same. Over the years Shane has seen the horrors that the war has done and builds his life helping the ones that have no where to basically go after being hurt and dismissed, while Greg is living in that life and at anytime can be called to fight in the war. 

This is one of the best story lines I have read. It's definitely one full of emotions ranging from very lows to very highs.
