Carry And Drag

Lift. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

Qualifying to compete on a national level is all that’s on power lifter Dagen Rourke’s mind. After an injury sidelined him the previous year, his only goal has been to overcome the physical challenges and mental demons to get back in the game. Falling into bed with the new artist at his brother’s tattoo shop was never part of his training schedule. Now he has to find a balance between the time he wants to give Ollie and the brutal training for what could be the most important competition of his life.

Run. Tattoo. Doze. Keep going.

Oliver Vos jumps at the chance to work at Vidar Rourke’s award-winning tattoo shop, Open Wounds. Getting out from under a nasty mentor and making it on his own is all Ollie has dreamed of for years. Unbeknownst to him, the room Vidar offers to rent him until he’s back on his feet would have him sharing space with tempting gentle giant, Dagen.

Living together is an adjustment, and when the heat between them morphs into something more will old insecurities and new tests drag them apart? Or will they find a way to carry the weight of their burdens…together?

Carry and Drag is the introductory novella to the contemporary MM romance series Open Wounds. This book contains mature content meant for adult readers.

Thank you so much for being the Saturday Spotlight Author here on Diverse Reader. It’s so wonderful to have you here. I’m just going to ask you a few questions to get to know you a little better.
Thank you for having me!

Let’s start out fun. Who are three people in literature you’d love to sit and have dinner with and talk to?
Oh wow, that's a toughie! Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, and Janet Evanovich.

What made you decide you wanted to write books?

I've always written. Even when I was ten or eleven, I would basically write fanfic for my favorite cartoon shows. So, it's always been a hobby, until the idea for Open Wounds came along and I knew I wanted to share it.

What has been your biggest challenge when writing?

Time management. I have a full-time job. I work 12-14 hours a day at least five days a week. It doesn't leave a lot of time for writing, so making sure I utilize the time I have is a biggie for me.

You have one book out in your Open Wounds series. What can you tell us about what’s to come for this series and will it be standalones or a large story arc?

I'm happy to say that the second book, Take Down, is set to release later this month and while each book could be read as a standalone, there is enough of a larger arc that it would benefit from them being read in order. At the moment, I have four books planned in total, but if the plot bunny strikes there could be more. I'll never say never.

Can you tell us about your future projects or what you’re currently working on?

Open Wounds is my priority at the moment, but I am also working on a freebie serial for my blog that will fall in the PNR category as well as a couple secret will be out later this year and the other will hopefully be revealed before the end of the year.

How can readers and fans find you: Website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc….

Authors are readers too, what are some of your favorite tropes to read and why?

I love some good angsty stories as long as they have a happy ending – like amnesia, arranged marriage, and enemies to lovers. But probably my favorite books to read are paranormal romance(I love some fated mates!), urban fantasy(romance or not), and romantic suspense.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Doing exactly what I'm doing now. If I get to a point where I can write full time, that would be great, but as long as I can keep telling stories I'll be happy.
