THE TIME OF MY LIFE
NORA PHOENIX
M/M ROMANCE

RELEASE DATE: 02.08.18

COVER DESIGN: JAY AHEER/ Simply Defined Art

BLURB
Denver is determined to realize his lifelong dream of becoming a singer. That’s why entering in The Right Note TV contest is the biggest opportunity he’ll ever get. After everything he’s been through with the boyfriend (now ex) from hell, he will not risk losing himself ever again, especially over a guy.

Judah has almost hit rock bottom. His dream to make it as a singer and musician is all but dead. Added to that, he’s broke and he’s about to outwear his welcome with his friends. Taking part in The Right Note is his last chance, but he cannot afford to show who he really is at the risk of permanently alienating his conservative family.

Denver doesn’t want to be drawn to Judah, ‘cause the guy spells trouble in every way. But the heart wants what it wants, and Denver seems unable to say no, even when Judah keeps switching from hot to cold on him.

When Judah meets Denver, he knows he’s in deep, deep trouble. He fights the attraction with everything he’s got, but Denver draws him in like the sun. Being with him comes at a price, however, and it’s not just jeopardizing winning the contest. When Denver’s ex stirs up trouble, Judah has to make a decision. Is Denver worth putting everything on the line for?

The Time of My Life is a steamy stand-alone MM romance with a sweet HEA. Please note trigger warnings for domestic abuse and rape. 97k words.

Review

The stage is set, the audience is quiet, all four chairs are turned around, the only sound is the beating of the heart, the inhaling, and exhaling of breaths being taken and the sound of the shoes as the blind auditions start. Sound familiar? Well, I am sure whether you have watched the popular show The Voice or not you probably have heard others talk about it. Nora Phoenix took me on a similar journey on her latest release of "The Time Of My Life," although the music show is not the same, the concept of it is similar. In this remarkable story, I was introduced to two amazingly different yet inspirational characters. Both of which made me laugh, cry, and cheer them on their journeys.

Denver's voice is that of an angel, openly gay, befriends a very standoffish Judah that is closed lip and who is always running hot and cold, but has the ability to have you standing up when he opens his mouth to sing. To make it through this competition they find themselves thrown together more than either one had expected. In order to make it through both have to face not only their attraction but their hidden past.

It's a remarkable story that will have you captured from the first page. I had the time of my life with this book and with these characters along with a few supporting characters I wouldn't mind seeing having a book of their own.

EXCERPT

“Are you about done pretending to ignore me?” Judah asked.
Busted. Denver looked up, caught Judah smirking at him. “I was trying to be polite,” he said in a weak attempt to defend himself.
“The polite thing would be to offer me some underwear, since I didn’t have time to bring any.”
“Underwear,” Denver repeated. His brain seemed to have stopped working at the mere thought of Judah being naked under that towel. Of Judah wearing Denver’s tight boxers, which would be even tighter on him since he was bigger.
“Yes, underwear,” Judah said, that smirk broadening into an irresistible grin. “You know, those boxer or brief type of fabric men tend to wear under their pants. Unless you want me to go commando?”
Naked. Naked under that towel. Naked wearing only sweat pants. It was hard to think when images were assaulting his mind. Very visual images. Denver swallowed.
“Think you could get to it anytime soon?”
Denver finally managed to get up from the bed and walked to the closet as if in a daze. He took the first pair he could find, the same dark blue he was wearing.
He didn’t trust himself to get too close to Judah, wasn’t sure if he could keep himself from reaching out and touching. Touching that chest dusted with dark hairs, or the happy trail leading to… Yeah, he needed to stay away. He threw the boxers to Judah, who caught them with his left hand.

“I’m gonna… I’m gonna step out for a second,” Denver mumbled. He didn’t look at Judah as he quickly stepped into the hallway, softly closing the door behind him. Judah’s soft laughter followed him, tickling his belly.

M/M ROMANCE
RELEASE DATE: 01.31.18

"I don't do relationships, I break them." ~ Troy
If there’s one thing life has taught me it’s that everyone eventually leaves. But that's okay because I have a strategy: no friends, no boyfriends, limit repeat hook-ups, no sleep overs, and above all leave them before they leave me. I’ve put my break-up skills to work doing others’ dirty work for them.
The last thing I expected when I agreed to do an embarrassing breakup song and dance was to end up on the doorstep of the very recognizable—and stupidly sexy—Rebel. When you meet a man like Rebel you'd be insane not to make a move. And just because he has me tossing out every single one of my rules doesn't mean I'm in trouble, right?
“I’m everyone’s friend, but no one’s everything.” ~ Rebel
I love working for Ballsy Boys, but when you make the kind of videos I do relationships are pretty damn impossible. Besides, guys find me sexy and want to either be with me or be me, but no one has ever cared enough to see the real me.
Until I meet Troy. He has no problem whatsoever with my job, but he’s determined to keep me at a distance. For the first time, a hook-up alone is not enough. I want more with him. Hell, I want everything. But he resists at every step until I’m about ready to give up. What do I need to do to show him that this is real and worth fighting for?
***Rebel is the first book in the Ballsy Boys Series and is a super sexy MM romance with plenty of good times. While this book and this series do contain some instances of sex outside of the main relationships, they DO NOT contain cheating.

Review

The way they meet is just really funny. Troy earns some money to do breakups.. for others.
A shit job of course but he needs the money to finance his game designer study.
So there he stands in a banana party outfit waiting for the guy to open the door and when the door opens there stands.....Rebel...his favorite porn star from the best porn site Ballsy Boys!! So he just can't do it right, because who the hell dumps a porn star, so he offers him a blowjob... to his surprise Rebel agrees.
Rebel really likes Troy and Troy likes to fuck Rebel, nothing more, sure no friends or anything. No way Rebel can touch his heart, he only can touch his dick.
Rebel is very considerate and consistent with Troy and knows how to play it cool through sex with him. Troy doesn't want anything as friends, only friends with benefits, and Rebel is great at that. But one way or the other they hook up a lot and do more things together and Troy has to admit maybe they are sort of friends.
We meet Rebel at work as a porn star and all his colleagues. I love the freedom of sexy porn and the connection between all. We also meet Rebel’s amazing family and hardworking Troy who knows nothing of all this. There is a lot of raw and heavy sex between Troy and Rebel in this story and I think everyone will smack me if I say 'a bit too much' so I won't say it...oops… I did already lol… romantic me just missed some lovemaking.
When Troy realizes he is with Rebel in the middle of something he doesn't want... he is gone.

A well-written story, very dynamic, with humor and also serious problems, there are some very emotional parts that made me cry. The story is good developed, has a great plot and is very entertaining.

EXCERPT

“You really don’t have to come up. I have a shitty little apartment. It’s nothing like your place,” I tell Rebel. “Plus, I’m obviously not up for fooling around.” “I don’t give a shit.” I scoff and shake my head but don’t argue further. If we keep hanging out without fucking around, what does that make us? Friends? Something else? In my apartment, I cringe inwardly, imagining what Rebel must be thinking as he steps into the one room that holds my whole life. Usually when I have a guy in here, we’re too busy getting naked for me to worry what they think of my living space. And, beyond that, I can’t imagine I’d care what any of those randoms think anyway. “If you don’t have tea, how about I make you some soup or something?” “Why are you doing this?” I eye him skeptically. “What? Do you want something more substantial? I can make a sandwich.” “No, I mean why are you being so nice?” Rebel’s eyebrows furrow, and the corners of his lips tug down in a frown. There’s a sharp sadness in his striking blue eyes that makes me want to shove him away or crawl into bed and hide for a week, anything to get away from the pity. “We’re friends, right?” Rebel asks. “You’ve had your dick in both my mouth and my ass.” “So...best friends?” I want to laugh, but the pain meds are starting to wear off, and my nose is starting to throb. “I’m not usually friends with guys I fuck around with,” I explain for what I feel like is the hundredth time since meeting Rebel. “Then who are you usually friends with?” My mouth opens and closes like a dumbass fish. I’m not sure if he was trying to throw shade, but damn if he didn’t get me. “I don’t have friends,” I finally admit with a little bite in my tone. I don’t want friends, and I don’t need friends. “We’re friends; deal with it. Now, soup?” He skirts around me into my kitchen, leaving me at a loss for words. “Why don’t you lay down on the couch and find something for us to watch? I’ll bring you some food, and we’ll get a dose of the painkillers the ER prescribed into you, and you can sleep through the worst of the pain.” I almost ask again why he’s doing this, but decide that whatever his motivation, it feels nice to be taken care of for a change. I settle onto the couch and put on the second season of Stranger Things. It’s not long before Rebel brings me a bowl of soup, a second dose of the painkillers, and a glass of water. “Thank you.”

BLURB
Brad feels nothing but shame about himself. Shame about his sexual needs, about his reputation, about his medical problem no one knows about. No one, except his best friend Charlie, but no matter what feelings Brad may have for him, he’s not going there. Charlie deserves so much better, and Brad desperately needs something not even Charlie can provide.
Charlie has loved Brad forever, but he’s never acted on his feelings, unsure of where he stood. Plus, there was the complication of his boyfriend. But when his boyfriend’s abuse gets too much for Charlie, it’s Brad who helps him escape and recover.
Miles ends up severely wounded in the line of duty as an FBI agent. He’s floored when the man he was protecting, Indy, opens his home to him so he can recover. Indy also sets him up with Brad, who turns out to be a perfect solution for Miles’ sexual issues…until Miles wants more than sex from him, and a developing friendship between Miles and Charlie complicate things even more.
Bit by bit Charlie and Miles break through Brad’s defenses, until they come crumbling down. Miles will have to prove he can provide what Brad needs, and Charlie’s sweet love will be put to the test. But when Brad finally finds the courage to break free of his shame, will the fragile love that has blossomed between the three of them survive?

No Shame is a steamy M/M/M romance that ends with a happy ever after for all characters, including those from the previous books in the series. It’s the fourth book in the No Shame Series, and is NOT a stand alone novel, so make sure to read the first three books first (No Filter, No Limits, and No Fear). It contains hot sex, a ménage, a little daddy kink, more hot sex, and a poly-amorous relationship that transcends labels. Also: trigger warning for mentions of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and rape.

Review

With all great series that comes to an end, there is a feeling of joy and remorse! I have had the honor and pleasure of reading all four books in this amazing series! Nora Phoenix's in-depth writing on each character has left an incredible impact on me.

I have witnessed the growth of each of her characters. I have laughed, cried, and rejoiced with them all!

Indy, Noah, Josh and Connor' s relationship is a one that can’t be labeled and shouldn't be! The powerful dynamite of their family is such a beautiful thing. I admire the way Nora wrote their story!

Blake and Arron's relationship was just as inspiring and was written with such love and admiration for the needs that they both had! It was hard for me not to feel the powerful connection between these two.

Then Nora brought us the beautiful trio of Brad, Charlie, and Miles. To complete this amazing and incredible family of men! These three men brought each other what no others could. It was heartbreaking, a learning process, as well as an understanding for me!

Nora, I want to thank you for bringing these remarkable men into my life. I have cherished all the love and devotion that you gave to each and every one of them.

EXCERPT
Miles had not yet met Josh and Connor, but according to Noah and Indy, they were fully on board with him moving in temporarily, even though Brad and his friend, Charlie, were also still staying there.
Noah parked the car in the driveway, as close to the front door as possible. “I’ll get Connor to help,” he said. “I don’t fully trust my leg yet, so I can’t support you.”
Miles nodded. Noah had lost a leg in Afghanistan, he’d read in Indy’s file, and had recently needed surgery to amputate even higher up, due to complications. “Okay.”
The man who stepped outside with Noah a few minutes later was massive. Broad arms and chest in a tight Red Sox shirt, strong legs. Miles recognized him from the pictures in the file. Ignatius O’Connor, called Connor by everyone. The last Miles had heard, the guy had been balls deep in the Boston crime scene, so he had no idea what had happened there.
Connor’s cheeks were flushed, as if he’d been doing something physical, and he and Noah were arguing about something.
“I don’t believe this,” Indy muttered, threw open his door and left it open as he stepped out. “Seriously? You guys were fucking again? At the rate you’re going, poor Josh won’t be able to sit for a week.”
Connor shrugged. “At least he’ll know who he belongs to.”
Noah shook his head. “You’re a regular fucking caveman, O’Connor. You would have done great with the dinosaurs.”
“Now why would I want to fuck a dinosaur? You’re not making any sense,” Connor said, his Boston accent thick.
Indy opened the door on Miles’ side. “Let’s get this guy inside so he can rest.”
Another man stepped outside. Tall, lanky, with cute, boyish looks. That had to be Joshua Gordon. He walked carefully, as if something hurt. Miles’ eyes narrowed. Had Connor hurt him? Josh took another careful step, and the source became clear. His ass. Had Indy been right? Holy crap, what kind of people were they?
Connor turned to watch Josh, and a look of pure love painted his face. Damn, but this was way more than mere fucking. Like with Noah and Indy, the love was palpable.
“You okay, babe?” Connor asked.
Josh leaned in, kissed him. “Yes, Connor.” Connor’s face lit up with happiness and a deep satisfaction.
“Shit, guys, sometime today, please?” Indy said, tapping his foot.

Saturday Author Spotlight: Nora Phoenix #Interview #Giveaway

Hello to one and all and welcome to another Saturday Author Spotlight! Today we are talking with Nora Phoenix. She's fairly new to the publishing circuit but has had many releases in the last few months. We are going to take a look at them, do an interview, and round it all up with a wonderful giveaway. Get comfy and enjoy.

No Filter

Indy will do anything to prevent his mobster ex from finding him. Their last encounter left Indy recovering for months in the hospital, and ever since he’s become an expert at hiding in plain sight. Determined to stay under the radar, he takes on a new identity and moves from place to place. His life has no room for friendships, let alone love, so he keeps his heart firmly closed. After all, he has nothing to offer but a damaged body and a broken soul. Plus, he’s so done with men. Until he meets the man who breaks through all his defenses.

Former Army Medic Noah came back damaged from his last tour—in more than one way. Between supporting his best friend-with-benefits Josh who’s struggling with PTSD, dealing with his own issues, and the stress of his job as a physician assistant, rebuilding his life seems impossible. There's little time for what Noah needs, let alone for what he wants. When he meets Indy, Noah discovers what he wants more than anything: for Indy to stay. But how will a relationship with Indy work when Noah needs Josh as well?

Indy never expected the strong, confident Noah to be as damaged and broken as himself. But what will happen if he starts letting Noah in? Indy knows he should run to protect Noah and Josh.

Noah needs Indy to stay more than anything. But will what little he has to offer be enough to make Indy trust him and stay?

No Filter is a steamy M/M romance featuring an open relationship (no cheating!) that ends with a HFN, but with the promise of a HEA. It’s the first book in the No Shame Series, and is not a stand-alone novel. It contains hot sex, a hint of a ménage, lots of talk about hot sex, flashbacks of said hot sex, and…Oh well, you get the idea. Also: trigger warning for mentions of sexual abuse.

No Limits

Josh is convinced he’ll never find someone who’ll love him the way he is. He’s not exactly a catch with his PTSD, which has transformed him into a homebody most of the times. Sweet, maybe, but also boring as hell. Plus, there’s that submissive tendency he recently discovered and is dying to explore. His complicated relationship with Noah and Indy don’t make it easy, either. When Connor shows interest in him, he can’t believe the sexy cop would look at him twice, let alone make an effort to get to know him. When he does, Josh discovers they have more in common than he’d ever thought possible.
Connor had survived the ordeal that left his best friend and fellow Marine dead, but that survival came at a price. He’s a robot, going through the motions, but barely alive. Until fate intervenes when he meets Josh. The vulnerable man triggers all kinds of protective and dominant urges in Connor, but what would a cute guy like Josh want with an inexperienced, closed-off, bossy steamroller like him?
When Connor discovers his past endangers Indy, all hope for a future between him and Josh seems lost. After all, there’s no way Josh will ever choose Connor over Indy’s safety and Noah’s lifelong friendship. When a crisis hits, can Connor prove he’s strong enough to deal with everything that’s thrown his way?
No Limits is a steamy M/M romance that ends with a HFN, but has a continuing storyline as well. It’s the second book in the No Shame Series, and IS NOT A STAND ALONE NOVEL, so make sure to read the first book (No Filter) first. It contains hot sex, a little BDSM kink for beginners, more hot sex, and a beautiful friendship that transcends labels. Also: trigger warning for mentions of sexual abuse

No Fear

Aaron is drowning. After coming out as gay, he lost his parents’ approval, his job, and his sense of identity. He feels like a freak who doesn’t fit in anywhere. His last hope was his brother Josh, but Josh can’t seem to forgive him for how Aaron treated him when they were teens. Not that Aaron can blame him, because he did treat Josh like crap.

All Aaron wants is for someone to accept him, guide him, because he doesn’t have a clue. When sexy jiujitsu teacher Blake takes him in and starts mentoring him, Aaron has hope for the first time, even though he can’t understand what Blake sees in him.

Blake doesn’t do relationships. At all. He’s more than willing to help Aaron find solid ground under his feet, but that’s it. Until insecure, vulnerable, and surprisingly sexy Aaron gets under his skin, triggering all kinds of protective instincts that make Blake long for more. He wants to take care of Aaron, give him what he needs, but how can he convince Aaron of that?

When Josh’s friend-with-benefits Indy’s past finally catches up with him, it endangers them all—and leads to heartbreaking decisions for everyone involved.

No Fear is a steamy M/M romance that ends with a HFN for Aaron and Blake, but has a continuing storyline as well. It’s the third book in the No Shame Series, and is not a stand alone novel, so make sure to read the first book (No Filter) and the second book (No Limits) first. It contains hot sex, a little kink, more hot sex, very mild puppy play, and a beautiful friendship-with-benefits that transcends labels. Also: trigger warning for mentions of sexual abuse.

Interview

Thank you, Nora, for being here today as our Saturday Spotlight author. You are a recently published author in this genre and it’ll be fun getting to know you a bit.

Thanks for having me!

What is something you discovered about being an author that surprised you?

I’d never realized how attached I would get to characters, that they would feel like real people to me. Now that my first series is coming to an end, I have to say goodbye to characters I’ve followed on their journey for four books…and it’s hard! I will honestly miss them, and I did not expect that.

What are the easiest and hardest parts about writing and publishing?

For me, the easiest part is coming up with ideas for new books. I still have so many ideas I’d like to develop into stories and books one day. The hardest part is the administrative side to it, like figuring out taxes and forms and things like that. There are a lot of details you need to get right, and that part I definitely not like.

For people not familiar with your work how would you pitch your books to them?

My No Shame series are steamy yet emotional MM romances that are slightly different than many others, because they follow the same characters in all four books while also introducing new couples, they have a suspense/action elements as well, and contain some unconventional storylines and kinks. I’ve been told you shouldn’t start them late at night, because you won’t be able to put them down…

Is there one character you write that holds a special place in your heart, if so who and why?

I think Josh is my favorite. He’s a guy who’s been through hell, yet has still managed to come through it as a real sweetheart, the most loyal friend you can have, and a caretaker. He’s selfless, always sacrificing himself for others, and I love how well he fits his bossy man Connor.

Will you be attending any conventions or signings in 2018?

Yes! For now, the plan is to attend the EuroPride Con in The Netherlands in July, which should be fun since that’s my home country. I’m also planning to go to the UK Meet in Briston, England in September, and I’ll be at GRL in Portsmouth, Virginia in October. So there will be lots of chances to see and meet me!

Can you tell us what you’re currently working on or future projects?

I’m always working on multiple projects at the same time…No Shame, the last book in my No Shame series, will release later this month on the 26th. One project I’m excited about is my new Ballsy Boys series that I’m co-authoring with K.M. Neuhold. The Ballsy Boys are the hottest gay porn stars in LA and everyone thinks they have it all, but underneath that fame they’re vulnerable men looking for real love. The first book in the series, Rebel, will come out January 31st, and we hope to publish at least three more this year. I also have a few solo books planned, so it will be a busy year for me.

How can readers and fans follow you in the interwebs? Twitter, FB, etc….

The best place to hang out with me is in my Facebook reader group Nora’s Nook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/norasnook/
I’m also pretty active on Twitter: @norafromBHR and on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nora.phoenix/
And I also have a website where I post at least once a week and where readers can always follow my current projects: http://www.noraphoenix.com/

Fast Fire Questions:

Winter or summer? Summer (I need the sunlight!)
Favorite color? Pink
Favorite animal? Giraffe (they’re awkward, funny, and beautiful at the same time…)
Swimming or walking? Walking (I hike three times a week, weather permitting)
Hero or Villain? Hero
Favorite holiday? Christmas
Night or Day? Day

Thank you so much for talking with us and we all look forward to seeing what you write this year.

Giveaway

Nora will gift one person with any e-copy of an ebook of hers your choice. May be a future release as well, since she has two books coming out this month.

Review

Nora does not fail to continuously have you on the edge as she delivers yet another powerful storyline that picks up just from where book two ends.

Aaron who was seen as the uptight rich straight-laced son has finally come out as gay. Since coming out, he has lost his family, his so-called friends and even his own gay brother wants nothing to do with him. He is at a loss more than ever and is stuck living with people he barely knows and a man he swears to only seem to annoy with his mere presence.

Blake loves helping people out. But no one has ever gotten under his skin the way Aaron does. At first he thought he was uptight and entitled, however, a closer look he saw that he was lost, lonely, searching for love and direction. The more time he spends with Aaron the more he realizes that he wants to protect him, show him all his firsts, and actually for the first time wants more out of life than just a random one night hook up.

I absolutely loved this book and all the characters that are woven in together. I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

EXCERPT
“You can start with plain vanilla sex, work your way up to the kinky stuff,” Blake said with a laugh.
“You make it sound boring,” Aaron complained.
Blake sobered. “No, and I’m sorry for teasing you a bit. You set the pace, Aaron. If you’re not ready for sex, you wait. If you are, you find someone who will respect you enough to take it slow, okay?”
Aaron reached out for his hand and held it tight. “Will you do it?” he asked.
Blake’s heart jumped in his chest. Was Aaron asking what he thought he was? “What do you mean?” He needed to be certain.
“I want you to be my first.”
He looked so cute and pretty and sexy, still in that gorgeous top and the tight jeans. But his words were cute and pretty, too, like a schoolgirl on prom night. Blake needed to manage expectations. “Aaron, I don’t do relationships. I like you, I really do, but don’t read more into this. I don’t date or hold hands or do romantic dinners.”
“That’s okay. I don’t need that. What I need is a safe place to gain some experience. You said it yourself, I need someone who respects me enough to take it slow. I want my first time to be good. I trust you. Please, Blake?”
Blake couldn’t help himself. He pulled Aaron close and brought their mouths together. At first, Aaron kept his mouth closed. Blake increased the pressure, licked his lips and pushed with his tongue until Aaron let him in. He angled his head a bit more, dove in deep. Aaron’s movements were slow, insecure, but he wound his arms around Blake’s neck and held on.
His mouth was sweet, hot. Blake tasted the peppermint Aaron so often suckled on, those white-and-red-striped ones. He teased Aaron’s tongue with his, until it responded, until they were doing a slick dance of push and pull. He was a fast learner, copying Blake’s moves at first, then coming up with a few of his own.
He was everything Blake usually avoided. Inexperienced, vulnerable, insecure. Yet kissing him did something to Blake’s body that he didn’t recognize. It triggered a hunger in him, a fierce need to possess, to own.
His hands lowered till they reached Aaron’s ass. He put one hand on each butt cheek, pulled Aaron close to him and ground his hips into him. The kid was hard again, and he himself had barely been soft since they had gotten into the dressing room. What was Aaron doing to him?
He broke off the kiss, swore softly at the sight of Aaron’s dazed look, his swollen lips. Fuck, Blake didn’t want to stop, not even close. He kissed him once more, the gentlest of kisses. “Not here. Not now.”
Aaron blinked. “But you’ll do it?”

“Tomorrow. I want you to have time to think about this, sleep on it. If tomorrow in the cold light of day you decide this is what you want, I’m your man.”

When she was a little tot, Nora’s mom got a library subscription for her. That, as they say, was that, and a lifelong love for books was born. Nora never stopped reading and doesn’t exaggerate when she says she devours books, rather than plain reads them. She started writing stories as soon as she could hold a pen, and wrote her first full book as a teen (on a typewriter!). It took her waaaay too long to follow her dream to become a romance author.
Nora writes M/M romance, because hello, sexy boys, and likes her men flawed, strong, and a tad broken. She appreciates a little kink, but insists on a happy ever after.
