Andrew Grey *Guest Post & Giveaway*

Andrew Grey is on my blog today with a Guest Post and Giveaway! His Farms Series is coming to a close and in this wonderful post he talks about the growth of his characters and his own growth. All good things must come to an end and new things will be born... Check it out.

GUEST POST
The stories that began the farm series were some of my earliest work.  Geoff, Eli, Cliff, Len, they were some of my very first character friends.  With Love Means... Endurance I wrap up my love affair with this series and these characters.  I can’t tell you how hard it is to say goodbye to Geoff and Eli.  They are part of me.  I am often asked which of my characters is most like me and I always answer that Geoff is the character that I hope I am most like.  When I created the character of Geoff, he came from a place deep inside me.  At this time I don’t remember where his origin came form.  It seems like Geoff has been a part of me for a very long time.  Eli on the other hand, came from a visit to an Amish bakery when I was a teenager.  I remembered him decades later when I wrote this story.

Over the years so many characters have filled out this extended family.  Geoff and Eli have grown, their family has grown, and I have have grown as a writer.  I have to say that I love them all and will miss them all.  But the series has gone on for a long time and I believe its time to let all of these wonderful characters live their love filled lives with all the happiness they deserve.  I will move on and have started a new farm based series.  The first story is Eastern Cowboy which will release in March.  I have one more thing to say.  Geoff will continue to live on because Geoff writes my Young Adult stories and both he and Eli will continue to live within me, and within you the reader.    Please enjoy this last Love Means... story.  It comes from my heart, as they all did.

Together for over ten years, Geoff and Eli built a fulfilling life. Their love and support helped raise their adopted son. Their hard work and dedication grew their farm from raising cattle and boarding horses to expanding into therapy riding sessions. Surrounded by a loving circle of friends, Geoff and Eli couldn’t ask for more. Until driven Eli loses his energy, and the doctor gives them the dire diagnosis of cancer.

Caught up in never-ending doctor’s appointments, surgeries, and treatments, their world turns upside down. With so many people dependent on them, they must pull together to put on a brave face, continue living as best they can, and care for their family. Geoff fears Eli, the love of his life, while a fighter, may not endure this battle, but neither is willing to consider succumbing as an option.

  1. To me love means being there in the bad times as well as the good ones, and I'm lucky enough to have found myself someone who's proved himself more than up to that task.

Thank you for the post and give-away. Andrew Grey is one of the authors I'm desperately trying to catch up with.

  3. Love means putting the needs of someone else above your own. I'll admit I haven't read all this series. I started with Love Means...Courage and was so I love with Len and Cliff that it was hard to let them go.
