Synopsis

Jagger Jameson could be the poster child for a nasty childhood campaign but he refused to allow it to dictate his future. At an early age, he learned to shut down all of his emotions and focus solely on survival. As it turned out, survival came in the form of a basketball scholarship with the University of Kentucky Wildcats. As the rest of the team around him focuses on having a good time and building friendships, Jagger worries only about using his talent to help him escape the life that was dealt to him. Everything is going smoothly until somebody from his past makes a reappearance, and with just the mention of a name, Jagger finds himself struggling to maintain his cool facade.

Colton Montgomery’s wealth allowed him the opportunity to have just about anything in the world he could desire…except the only thing he’d ever really wanted – Jagger Jameson. When the opportunity to try and tame a Wildcat comes his way, Colton welcomes the challenge.

Review

When I read this book for the first time, I knew it was special to me. As I’ve finished reading it again, it just gets more special!

Jagger Jameson has had a sad, violent, lonely life. The only thing he ever had of his own was basketball and he sees it as his way out of his painful life. Jagger does everything he can to not be noticed by anyone, being noticed has only brought him misery. As hard as he tries though, someone sees him, someone who will change his world one day.

Colton Montgomery sees the boy on the basketball court, he sees the bruises....he sees everything Jagger works so hard to hide. They are young teenagers, but Colton knows he had found the one. Colton comes from a life of privilege and Jagger resents everything about him. Mostly Jagger hates that Colton sees his secrets. Colton and his family move away, but Colton never forgets Jagger.

Years later, the two men will face each other as opponents on the basketball court. Both are playing the biggest game of their lives. With a secret bet between the teams, Jagger can’t afford to lose. As always though, Colton is a major distraction. What happens when the bet has to be paid will shock Jagger. Colton has to convince the man who still doesn’t want to be noticed, doesn’t want to be touched...that he still only sees him!

Jagger’s story broke my heart, I aches for him so much. Colton appears to be this cocky rich boy, but he is so much more. When I saw the lengths Colton goes to to win his “Wildcat” I was done. Fair warning, Colton is arrogant and sometimes a pain in the a$$, but he’s so worth the aggravation! I love these boys and the cast of secondary characters won me over as well. This book helped me fall deeper in love with this genre and I am thankful for that.
