Saturday Author Spotlight: Silvia Violet #Interview #Giveaway

I'm hoping everyone had a lovely holiday. I sure did and now I'm back to grind with a fabulous Saturday Author Spotlight.  Silvia Violet author of Professional Distance, the Wild R Farm series, Coming Clean, and so many other amazing books is gracing us with her fabulousness as my Saturday Author Spotlight.

There's an interview, a look at her terrific work, and of course a giveaway! So, let's get this show on the road...

Thornwell Shipton is wealthy, uptight, closeted, and an incurable workaholic. A tragic love affair left him terrified of relationships, so he tells himself sex is better scheduled and paid for.

Riley Dashwood is young, easy-going, and comfortable in his own skin. He’s a passionate baker and an aspiring chef, working as an escort to save up for culinary school.

They’re clearly made for each other.

When Thorne hires Dash, it’s lust at first sight. After a few scorching nights together, both men start to wonder if what’s between them is more than physical, but their age gap and resistance to romance make them afraid to change their professional relationship to a personal one. Dash pushes Thorne to admit he wants things he’s denied himself for years. Kinky things. Soft, caring things. Things that force him to open his heart, not just his body. To move forward, one or the other must take a risk and ask for what he really wants.

When sexy, kilt-wearing astronomy professor Greg MacIntyre moves in next door, Blake Theriot knows he's in trouble. Blake is a research librarian, and he likes things orderly and controlled. But in his secret fantasies, he craves a big, powerful man like Greg to stir up his life.

Every time Blake tries to talk to his erudite neighbor, his brain shuts down and his vocabulary is reduced to one-word utterances, but when Blake's niece challenges him to invite Greg to dinner, he does. A few shots of after-dinner whiskey loosen Blake's inhibitions, and the two men share a hot kiss and the promise of more. Can Blake relax enough to give himself a chance with Greg, or will his fear of letting go ruin his hopes for love?

Publisher's note: This book is a revised, re-edited version of one previously released by another publisher under the same title.

Coleman Wilder is a half-breed werewolf. Some days the tension between his human side and his werewolf instincts threaten to tear him apart. But the challenge of running a horse farm as a gay man in a conservative Tennessee town keeps him focused until he meets horse shifter, Jonah Marks.

Jonah's family insists that shifting is sinful, but Jonah longs to let his stallion run free. Desperate to escape his family's judgment, he asks Cole, his secret crush, for a job. Cole turns him down, scared his desire for Jonah will make him lose control. When Jonah's brother threatens his life, Cole struggles to save him and give them both a second chance at the life they've always wanted.

  INTERVIEW

Thank you so much, Silvia, for being my spotlight author today. The day after Christmas. I have a few questions for you and they likely jump all over the place so I hope you don’t get too lost. I’ll start off easy.

Thank you for inviting me!

How old were you when you knew that you wanted to write M/M literature, and what was the moment you knew that was the genre for you?

I was in college when I decided I wanted to write romance. I wrote m/f for many years and first got published in my late 20s. I started reading a lot of m/m in 2010-11 and I decided to try writing m/m in 2012. I’ve written this genre almost exclusively since then.

Thorne & Dash *fans self* Is this going to be a series that strictly follows those two and their life, or will you touch on other couples?

I originally conceived of Thorne and Dash as a trilogy following those two characters but there will be at least one connected story –for Marc—and possibly more. I’ll have to see as things go as I write books 2 and 3.

If you could cast Thorne & Dash, who would you pick?

Thorne: Richard Armitage
Dash: Jeremy Irvine
You can see some pics of them on my Thorne and Dash Pinterest board:Thorne & Dash Pinterest

With the New Year on the horizon, do you have any goals for 2016? Anything you’re aimed to accomplish?

I have plans for at least at least five books I want to publish in 2016. I also want to find new ways to connect with readers and get the word out about my books.

How was 2015 to you? Kind?

2015 has been a good year. I’ve met a lot of wonderful readers, both online and in person, and I’m very happy with the books I’ve published. I’ve also gotten to travel to San Diego, Chicago, and my favorite beach and had a lot of fun with my family.

Do you have a writing regiment? Like, do you have to have Dr. Pepper, or Fritos, or something like that before you can begin?

In order to write as much as I do and homeschool my kids, I’ve had to train myself to write anywhere under a variety of conditions. But very often, there is coffee by my side, and peppermint patties are always welcome writing companions.

With 2016 approaching, what conventions are you hoping to attend for the new year?

I’ll be at RT (Romantic Times) in Las Vegas in April. Sadly, I won’t be able to make GRL this year since I’d miss my older daughter’s 13th birthday.

If your life was going to be seen by the world, would it be a motion picture, a miniseries, sitcom, or reality TV show, and what would it be called?

A sitcom called A Little Bit Quirky

Do you have a writing pet peeve?

Published books that clearly haven’t been edited.

What are you currently reading?

Winter Wonderland by Heidi Cullinan

How can your fans follow your career? Facebook, Website, Twitter?

Thank you so much, Silvia, for being here today and chatting with me.

You’re very welcome!
